Curious Metformin Question

Hi

For the women who have/had PCOS did you have to use Metformin to help you fall pregnant after WLS?.

I am just curious as I had trouble with my last 2 pregnancies. One  and one live birth with Metformin and have been wondering if I will need it again when my hubby and I do start to try again which won't be for a while.

My GP gave me a script for it the other day to get my cycles and stuff sorted out.

Best wishes to all

I have PCOS and started Metformin 2 days before I found out I was pregnant. Obviously I didn't need it since I was already pregnant but alot of women on here have takin it. GOOD LUCK :)

I used to help with my first pregancy before WLS. Since surgery, I have regular cycles, and I have gotten pregnant on my own. Wish you the best of luck!

Hey...
I'm not sure if this will help you...
I'm currently pregnant with baby #2. I had my RNY March 09. I was actually on birth control (Ocella/ Yasmin) when I got pregnant.

In Sept 06, I had laproscopic ovarian drilling done and 6 months later I found out that I was pregnant. At that time, I was taking the Metformin and continued that through out my whole pregnancy, along with Prometrium for the first 13 weeks.

I don't see why it wouldn't work for you especially after WLS....Good Luck!
