Ultrasound Question and Gender Party

That's a cool idea about the cake. That's what the Duggar kid did with his wife on the Today show (or whatever morning show it was) to find out together with his family what their baby would be. I thought it was SUCH a neat idea! Wish we had family here to do the cake thing! That would be so fun! I hope your little one cooperates so you can carry out your plan. I hope they find that everything is normal and great with your baby!

Just in my experience, if a tech is doing your ultrasound, if they're nice, they will tell you what everything is that they are looking at, tell you if they can visualize it, tell you if they see the gender clearly, and if there is anything wrong they tell you that the Dr. will go over the results. And you definitely want that because as much as they do those ultrasounds, they are not Dr's and not qualified to really interpret what they see. SO I'd rather hear it from the doc. Even though it's a pain to wait until you go back. I'm having to wait a month to find out what was seen. I know what the tech did see was normal, but he couldn't visualize the kidneys or bladder so we'll probably get another u/s next time so the Dr. can see those things.

I love that idea...telling family is such a joy.  I hope your lil one works with you.  As far as techs, mine have always told me size and as they are doing the u/s the will say...for example "this is blood flow to heart and looks good".  The u/s where we found out she was tiny the tech told me and then dr came in to give me all the details.
