Graphic Nanny cam video - this woman should rot in jail!
This makes me ill. Not only as a Mom but as daycare provider. I can't imagine ever being that mad. She should spend the rest of her life in prison. There are so many other professions you could do. If you can't handle the every day stresses of watching children do something else!!! Ugh I could just puke watching that.

My husband and I don't have a choice... We both have to WORK... Pay Taxes... etc...
We have been interviewing many daycares. So far we found the lady by our house who is state licensed... has degrees in preschool and is CPR trained and has very high references. I also do a very good background check.
Yes would I love to be a stay at home mom... you know it, unfortunately I cant sit on my arse and collect... So to provide for my family and make it reality... I work. I bust my ass and drive 37 miles one way. I'm proud of my work and I'm proud of what my husband and I have accomplished!
This story is awful... but I have to agree NOT all daycares are bad!
And for the SAHM mom's who can do it because their spouses bust there butts, I support you 100%. Hopefully down the road I can be a SAHM. Right now with the economy... there is no way.

I agree 100%! As a parent, you are not less of a parent if you have your child in daycare. In today's world some things are just not like it used to be. Also, I believe you should provide for your children. If the government has to pay for your kids, I don't think that is really right. I work hard pay taxes just like everyone. Also, we pay a lot of have health care for hubby and I even though we get it through work. The dates were you used to pay $40 a month to cover yourself just isn't there.
I think as a parent you have to do your due diligence. You go and you interview day-cares, you drop in unexpected occasionally. You will be able to see how your child is being taken care of. Also, communicating with the other parents in the daycare, looking at the other children that are in the daycare/home setting, and talking to the the provider about your expectations. Also, you get someone licensed and that has insurance! Just as there are good and bad teachers, there are good and bad daycares.
I went to daycare as my father was in the military and my mother was a nurse. Dad was not really dependable on when he would be home (he would have to run the PT early in the mornings, then he would be in the field for weeks at a time). So, Mom had a daycare provider lined up always so she wouldn't worry about who would take care of us. We, my brother and I, turned out to be great kids (so I think).
My hubby and I are debating now about me staying home or not. It is a big decision. It is a sacrifice. It doesn't mean I wouldn't make the sacrifice. It just means that I want to make sure we can financially provide for the baby, our family, and raise it to the best of our ability the way God intended.
Ok - I will step down off my soapbox.

Ugh, yeah, she's lucky daddy didn't see the rest of the video earlier, or she would be dead, i think. I'd have a hard time not killing her.
I keep considering an in-home daycare for Rowan, because the place he currently goes to is so expensive, but this makes me reconsider. One of the really good points about his current daycare is that since it is large, with lots of teachers and lots of kids and lots of parents in and out all the time, there are eyes all over the place and I really don't think anyone could secretly hurt a child there.

Didn't even watch all of it. (I closed the window when they fast fowarded it. The first hit had me in tears.) I would so be out to kill her. I am so glad that Mark and I work opposite schedules that we don't need daycare. I know not all are bad but it is still a relief to know that we don't have to deal with trying to find one.
