I can sympathize with the feeling like you're eating all day. Jiminy, I swear I can stuff something in my face for 10 hours straight and then look back at all the food I eat and it's STILL not enough. Geez!
This is my 5th baby and I've NEVER had a NST. Even when I went into preterm labor with my last one and was on complete bedrest for months (it seemed! LOL think it was close to 3 months) I never had one then either. Now this pregnancy, my Dr. is going to do growth ultrasounds starting at 28 weeks (but I get another u/s at 25 weeks with the maternal fetal perinatologist) just because of how my nutritional status was going in to the pregnancy, the problems I had with my RNY and my problems of being able to get in enough calories. But I think at this point, our little girl must be taking everything she needs because she's doing absolutely fine growth wise. Last week at my level II u/s she was measuring about a week ahead and had gained 3 oz. from the previous week. The tech was shocked by that but I was oblivious because I didn't really know how much she was supposed to gain from week to week. Apparently the 3oz. from week 17 -18 was a lot?? lol But that was good news to me.
I was anemic when I started this pregnancy. He said that once he starts me on the prenatal that it has more iron in it and it should bring me back into the normal range. He was right. And it did. I've had to have iron through the IV before when I was going through all my trouble with my RNY but never just an iron shot. Are you on any iron supplements?? If you aren't, I'd try to do that nasty stuff before the iron shots unless you're are REALLY anemic. But I don't know cuz as nasty as that oral iron is, I almost think I'd rather get the shot! lol
Good luck to you and I'm glad your baby is growing well!
