Baby birth weights
Hi
I have read some stuff about mothers gaining or not gaining weight through pregnancy but I can't find anything about baby birth weights from mothers who have had babies before WLS and after.
Was there a difference in your babies birth weight after you had your WLS?. I've had the sleeve done and am wondering if it will make a difference.
Mine are 40wks 7lb 10oz, 37wks 7lbs 2oz and 39wks 7lbs 7oz without the sleeve.
Many thanks
Crystal

Before WLS I had my daughter at 37 weeks at 7 lbs 13 oz and I had gained around 55 lbs. They think she would have been a 10 lb baby if I would have been 40+ weeks. Now I've had the lap band and we'll see with this one. I've gained 21 lbs so far and I go in for a growth ultrasound today so we'll see if she's measuring big or not. My family tends to have large babies, so it wouldn't surprise me if this baby is around the same size.
I had my first 10 years ago pre-weight loss, I was overweight with him, sorry can't remember what I gained but I will guesstimate 40 lbs probably, he was 41 weeks & a c-section & was 8 lbs 15 ozs.
This time around, I was 3 years post RNY & 10 months post TT when I found out i was expecting him, :-) and I gained about 30 lbs and he was a 39 week planned c-section (due to all the problems and issues with first pg, delivery, etc. plus having as much surgery as I had done dr thought it was safer to just schedule us this time around) & was 8 lbs 14 ozs....so he would have actually been bigger then his brother had he went the whole term!

Well I gained 40-45 lbs but then lost about 10 at the end ( severe gallbladder issues) and my little man was born at 37w 1d and weighed 6lbs 1oz. He was on of the smallest babies in both mine and DH's family( everyone tends to have big babies) so it makes me wonder wether it was gallbladder or wls that caused him to be on the small side ( for my family that is) Guess I will never know.
