Have you been pregnant after WLS and TT?

Leila,

I lost 180 pounds in 15 months. I had loose skin on my belly and when I worked out my arms would smack against my body, I had handfuls of extra skin in my armpits. They cut off 5.5 pounds of skin from my stomach and between both my arms another 1.5 pounds.

It was partly for mobility, it was partly for vainity, and it was for me. The main thing was removing the skin from my stomach, the muscle tightening was just a bonus.

My PS works a lot with bypass patients. I asked her if it was worth doing my stomach now knowing I would be having babies. After talking to me, she knew (and I knew) if I didn't do it now I wouldn't be bac****il my babies were in college. Once my kids are born, I do not see myself spending $7,000-$10,000 on myself. Daycare around here is between $1,000-$1,200 a month.

She said if I decided to get at tummy tuck and then have babies I would look more like a person who didn't have a weight problem that had a baby, not a person who used to weigh 355 pounds then had a baby.

I did not get an anchor cut TT because I knew I would be stretching it out some.

So who knows how pregnancy will do with my body. Best case scenerio I am still happy with my body after I have my baby. Worst case, in another 20 years I get revision

I hope that all makes sense, it isn't a short answer. It was a tough decision but I felt I made the right one for me.

Thank yoy for your feedback.

I also had a baby post TT...I was 10 months past my TT, he did have to go in and do a revision 3 mos in, so TT in Jan 08, revision Apr 08, then got pg in Oct....with my surprise blessing child :-) So I was very nervous as we were not trying & I was not anticipating having another, my son was 10 & we thought the window had pretty much closed for us, I was on BCP so needless to say it was quite the surprise...but all that aside, yes, as I carried, I appeared to be much smaller to folks, who like the one lady mentioned, I was out garage saleing & baby shopping & people would say, "YOU are pg?" but my stomach stretched for him. It did make it more painful as far as feeling stretching & things, but he had plenty of room, he was 1 week early (planned c section) & weighed 8 lbs 14 ozs!! :-) My first son was over a week late & was 8 lbs 15 ozs so this baby would have been even bigger than his brother had we went the whole time!

Hi Leslie -

I had GBS Sept 04, went from 404 to 175. TT March 06 and got pregnant July 07. Like others have already said I didn't show much either. I just looked fat and I didnt show anything until 8 months and I looked 4-5 months. I did gain 70 pounds so my butt and thighs got huge. My stomach was still pretty tight after the first but a bit more flabby after the 2cd. I would have waited until after babies to spend that kind of money on a TT if I wasn't in such a rush to have a flat tummy. LOL

Thank you for sharing you experience!!! I know what you mean wanting a flat tummy. I also know that once I have a baby I won't part with that kind of money for myself.
