Have you been pregnant after WLS and TT?
Hello! My name is Leslie, I am 27 and new to this thread.
Just looking for any words of wisdom or feedback. I am 22 months out of RNY, and 4 months after my tummy tuck and I am now 4 weeks pregnant with my first baby.
Both my RNY and Plastic Surgeon new we would be trying for a baby soon--so I have been really open with both of them.
I am very curious how I will carry the baby and how my tummy will do. Where my stomach is tight now, I can feel that is slightly swollen above my pelvis. Not weight gain or a bump just inflammed (I guess due to the extra blood flow).
I love this forum and look forward to chiming in more ofen.
Thanks,
Leslie

Sadly at almost 6 years post op I still have my skin because well...I can't afford to get the PS. Anyway my friend has had babies post RNY & post TT. She is 5 years post op and has a 3.5yr, 1.5 yr and is currently due in May with twins...so far she's doing great aside from pelvic pain due to the twins. Her belly is WAY small compared to me when I had my 2nd but at 30w is measuring at 37w and her babies are measuring very well for gestation (they are identical twins who not only share an amniotic sac but also a placenta so they are watching her very closely)...
Good luck & congrats!
Good luck & congrats!
Hi Leslie,
Congrats.
I had a baby post tummy tuck (about 2 years post TT).
My plastic surgeon was very "conservative" and didn't tighten me up too much for two reasons. First, I had A LOT of skin and tissue to be removed so he was concentrating on that and #2 he knew I wanted babies.
Because of that my pregnancy wasn't bad.... I didn't ever develop a real "round" basketball shape -- in fact I was 5 days PAST my due date and at a garage sale (trying to walk out the baby!) when someone said to me "you're pregnant??" . So I guess I just looked more chubby than anything - not pregnant.
Otherwise I didn't have any problems.
My son was 7lbs 1 oz when born. Perfectly normal.
Good Luck!
Cindy

Hi Leslie!
Just curious why you would have a TT knowing that you would be trying for a baby soon? And since the plastic surgeon knew that you would be trying soon did he avoid doing a corset (abdominal muscle tightening)?
My stomach is not so bad, but I do have a lil' pouch that I'd like to do someday after I, pray God have a baby or two. For me, it doesn't make sense to do when you know you do want to be pregnant in the near future. I do understand that some women post wl have a panni that is irritating and even debilitating - that requires attention ASAP.
Post TT and pregnancy is no problem though. Women say they don't show until much later in the pregnancy, the baby space is "tight", they have odd shaped stomachs. Post 1st birth, their stomach's go back flat but loose, 2nd birth and so forth, not so flat and more loose.
All the best to you Leslie. I hope you get a BFP as soon as you like.
Blessings,
Leila
