I was wondering I gained 80lbs with my two boys and was obese they were both big babies 8lbs2oz , and 9lbs 2 oz. I also had hypertention at the end of both pregnancies as well. SO i was wondering if anyone out there had any babies while obese and then conceived after wLS how much weight you gained and how big was baby or babies? and how eventful or ueventful were the pregnancys

Well, my pre-RNY pregnancy had a lot of complications, and she was born small as a result of them. This time around I am 28 weeks with twins and have had zero real complications- I lost 125 lbs before getting pregnant. I have a lot less water retention this time around, which is something I was really bothered with before. I don't know how big these two will be, but my DR is "impressed" by their size already, so I imagine they will fair pretty well. I think this pregnancy has been a lot easier physically, other than the morning sickness I had, but that was probably twin related. Good luck! So far I have gained nearly 30 pounds, but the recommended weight gain for me is 40 with twins. My weight gain has slowed a lot- I gained only two pounds in the last five weeks.

I've had 7 babies while Obese. Their sizes ranged from 7lbs 10oz all the way to 10lbs 9oz (mostly 9lb babies though)and I never had Gestational Diabetes. I never had complications with them either. 5 of them were even born at home.

I am a little over 22 wks with this one, I lost 15 lbs since getting my BFP and have maintained for the last 3 months.

So far no complications with this one. My blood pressure is lower this time than with my others. Baby is measuring on track and doing well. Will be planning another home birth too.

I have about 15-18 weeks left but I don't think I will gain much more than 10 pounds, IF that. As for baby's size, it will all depends on her I suppose. I'm hoping for a good sized 8lb baby.

My first pregnancy, I started out around 325 and went up to 370. I ended up having pregnancy induced hypertension and they induced me right at 37 weeks. My daughter was 7 lbs 13 oz, she probably would have been HUGE if I didn't get induced. I was only on bed rest for 3 days before they induced me. Other than that, I didn't have any pregnancy complications and felt fairly good while pregnant (I was previously 365 and had just lost down to 325 when I found out I was pregnant also). The only complications I had were after birth. I ended up having to get a C section due to not being able to push her past my pelvic bone. Because I was so overweight, the epidural wasn't in the middle and made one of my sides completely numb, I couldn't move my arm. I ended up getting an infection in my C section incision which resulted in me having a 1 week hospital stay about 2 weeks after we went home. I was unable to breastfeed and I really don't know if that is because of the infection or due to my size or what.
So far this pregnancy, I don't have any complications, but I am finding I have more little aches and pains with the stretching of ligaments and such. I started this pregnancy at 260 after losing 120 lbs. My blood pressure has been excellent so far, I hope that keeps up. Time will tell whether she'll be a big baby or not, so far she's measured slightly big, but my family has big babies.

I had my daughter pre-RNY I was 400 lbs when I got pregnant with her and only gained 18 lbs. I worked full time on my feet 50 hrs a week as a manager at BK... Surprisingly I had no problems... I had her 10 days late by induction and she was 8 lbs 12.9 oz. Totally a big baby as well...lol  The whole year after she was born I gained 100+ lbs bringing me to 519 I had surgery 12 days after her 1st birthday... So here I was doing great lost 107 lbs in just about 4 months and then found out I was pregnant again with twin boys and I was 412lbs. So I am still obese but I lost 62 lbs so far while pregnant and not gained more then a pound here or there. I have been stuck at 350-355 since december... But this pregnancy is easier on be now that I am just healthier, I am still big but I have more energy and stuff... I think it just depends on the person....Sorry I kinda went on and on...lol

I think it's funny you all are asying 8lbs is a "BIG" baby. That's actually the size of a NORMAL baby! At 42 weeks a baby SHOULD weight 8lbs 12oz!
9 months (38 to 41 weeks)
At term, the average baby is 18 to 21inches long. While average weight is 7 to 7 1/2 pounds at birth, the normal range is from just under 6 pounds to 9 pounds or more.
Usually anything over 9lbs is considered on the "larger" side of the fetal scale.

I considered my babies all normal sizes, healthy sizes!
#1 - 9lbs 2oz
#2 - 7lbs 15oz
#3 - 9lbs 8oz
#4 - 9lbs
#5 - 7lbs 15oz
#6 - 10lbs 9oz
#7 - 7lbs 10oz
#8 - ????

Only my 6th was "huge".

My 10lb 9oz baby girl was my fastest delivery. From start to fini**** was just 45mins long. My water broke and I felt like pushing. I didn't tear either. She was my easiest to birth too.

OMG Sephia,  you are someone I need to be able to contact when I get pregnant.  You are a "champ"!

My Mom had 9 children, her mother 16.  My father's mother had 8.  Mom says that she was just young and never thought about it.  She is now amazed at how "stupid" she was when she watches those TLC birthing shows.  She truly can't believe what a woman goes through.

Me, I saw my niece being born when I was 14.  It was quite traumatic for me.  I was my sister-in-laws only support during delivery.  I was crying and a nervous wreck.  Then one of my very best friends died during child birth (baby was fine.  Her bro took him and her other brother took her 4 young, but older boys.  She was very obese and in peril health wise.  I was the last one to see her, the last one to say, I love you etc.  It was an absolutely devastating blow.

I got pregnant a few years after and was "nuts".  I was terrified beyond reason.  I mean plagued with anxiety.  I should have talked to someone,  although I did try seeing my old therapist - one session that was absolutely not helpful.  I then kept calling this Christian place who never got back to me until after "my loss".

This "craziness" could have been mostly hormonal - my breasts blew up and hurt, my stomach bloated up - this was immediate.  I had to shop for the clothing size I had given away because nothing fit.  I only carried 5.5wks or 3.5 wks after my missed period.  So between the hormones and the two major traumatic events  I may have unconsciously chosen not to have kids.  But I love, love, love kids and do want to be pregnant.

Any advice?

Best,
Leila
