Need some advice..I'm confused..
Hello..
Hubby and I are trying to get pregnant... I have never tried or been pregnant before so this for me is very new. My cycles have been almost clockwork around 26-28 days. We really started trying last month but apparently nothing happened. I did have my period but was unusually light.. only 2 1/2 days long..my "heavy" day was not that heavy like usual. I got very curious and took pregnancy test but it was negative.
However, now I have been feeling like menstrual cramps since yesterday....right in the middle on the lower belly. I starting trying to track my ovulation with ovulation kit (which a close friend of mine wh o was able to conceive with this tool - highly recommended since I am 41 and I am new to this experience). Is it normal to have cramping maybe before ovulation?
Again, this is all new to me.. before surgery I was never regular with my periods.. in fact, I had PCOS. I am 15 months out of surgery and since then my periods have been regular. I took a ovulation test this a.m. and I am not ovulating yet. It has only been 10 days since my period but according to ovulation kit I should test after day 3.
Have any of you experienced something similar?
Any advice/experiences will be appreciated.

I hurt when I ovulate. I swear I can feel when that egg pops. I get really sore and tender on the side that is ovulating. I bought one of those saliva ovulation testers off ebay (you can use them to help you conceive as well as keep you from conceiving). It's reusable and they are very affordable. I got my for 25 bucks, free shipping. Plus you can use them any time of day as many times a day as you want. You put your saliva on it, let it dry, look at it under the light & microscope piece (it's only as big as a tube of lipstick) and if you see a ferning pattern, you're ovulating. Mine was very accurate and it was a good investment.
I don't have experience with PCOS but the fact that your periods are regular is a good sign. You might try having sex a few days before you think you will ovulate. When we were trying so hard for our 2nd child (I'm pregnant with our 5th child right now) we had a system where we'd have sex on CD 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 ,18 & 20. That way we'd make sure to hit any egg that came through. We finally conceived our 2nd child after 18 months, a round of Clomid and progesterone supplements.
Good luck to you and I hope you conceive quickly!
