1st appt March 26, what to expect?

I will have my first OB appt on March 26th which should be 7 wks, 3 days pregnant. What should I expect. I assume it will be pretty invasive? Will the baby have an audible and/or visible heartbeat? Will they be able to tell if it's ectopic at this point? I have so many questions and no one to talk to. I'm 36 and this is a first for me. Not saying anything to anyone yet--just in case.

Some Dr's will do ultra sounds to check for a HB some don't right away. They will ask you lots of questions about your symptoms and your family history. They may also do a pelvic exam and pap smear. And they do a lot of blood work! Hope that helps!

Jackie got it covered. My OB's office doesn't do ultrasound in the office so that is a separate appt for me. At my first OB appt (well there was an intake appt with the nurse at 6 weeks), they tested my urine, weight, blood pressure, felt my uterus, did a pelvic exam and a PAP.

My first appointment at that time was all paperwork. Did not see anyone till after I was 12 weeks along
