Why teens should not have babies...

I was having an episode of preggo insomnia last night.  I was looking around on baby-gaga.com and came across a board for TEEN pregnancies.  Lets get real, we know they happen and there are some teens who become wonderful mothers regardless.  I found this post that FLOORED me.  The topic is smoking cigarettes and pot while pregnant.  So I read this girls post and thought, WOW she is going to get *****ed out for admitting she's smoking and doing  pot while preggo.  Not so much.  The responses shocked me.  I never participate on those boards but that made me want to.

I don't know and have never researched pot and pregnancy....  (and I'm at work so I am not going to Google it!). 

BUT - WHY WHY WHY WHY would you risk it??  I wouldn't even take tylenol when I was pregnant!  I'd rather suffer the backache than risk my baby. 

Vaporize it... smoke is bad  for the baby.  Um... seems to me if the chemical is getting into your body via ANY method it's getting to the baby?? 

I wish there was a way we could turn them into child protective services now.... 

Okay - back to work.  I shouldn't have been posting but read the post quickly and had to comment!

Oh I have lots of thoughts. This is what happens when someone too young and too un-educated gets pregnant. She is ruining the life of her unborn child. THis baby is going to be born an addict plain and simple. I feel sorry for the baby. I am wondering if the baby's father or the girls' parents are involved at all in any of this.

That's one way to get my blood pressure up. Let her come here - we'd rip her apart! lol

that is so sick. If she doesnt love and want to protect that baby now while it is a part of her, how about when the hard part comes and she has to take care of a baby that is preemie, and suffering from withdrawel??!

Have you ever watched 16 & pregnant?  It's not near as bad as this; however, I know before I got pregnant and was trying that show really bothered me.  Now I watch it and am amazed at how teens are so not ready for motherhood.  Not only the mothers but the father too....

it's crazy!  I've watched every episode and even though some mothers are really trying it seems all the dads this season are ********!  They are just way too young and have too much they still have to do.  I was pregnant my last semester of college and it was a struggle getting through that, I graduated in December but I cannot imagine having to be a mom and go to school full time, thank goodness I don't have to.  I can't even think about being in high school and having a baby! 

Ugh! I can't imagine going to school and being pregnant. I'd fail every test - I don't retain much these days (other then water of course! lol) working full time is bad enough!

Yes there are some really crappy teen Moms. I was 19 when I got pregnant with my son. I was one of those Mom's that luckily was a good Mom. But I look back at it and I was SO not ready.  I'm just glad I was one of those Mom's that grew up!

My mom had me when she was 19 too and I like to think she did a great job.  Some people just cant handle the responsibility.  I guess some people grow up and some don't.  I mean really drugs while your pregnant, when did that ever become OK... geez!! lol

That is just crazy!!! Do you have a bathing suit yet for your little girl? Gymboree has some on sale right now!!!
