Still not showing
Ok I am 30 weeks pregnant and no one would know it. I havent gained any weight at all and i eat like a pig. Dr said everything seems normal and at last ultrasound he measured perfectly normal. Has anyone had a pregnancy where they didnt show at all? Was the baby born early/late and was it a normal weight. I think he will be small because i havent gained any weight. Anyones stories will be helpful. Thanks
My sister-in-law just had a baby on March 3rd. She wasn't showing until about 8 months and looked about 6 months when she delivered. My niece was born 6 days early and weighed 6lbs 5oz...a perfect little bundle of joy. Some women carry very small. No reason or rhyme. Congratulations and I good luck!
Are you carrying a girl? Or do you know? Have you had a tummy tuck or anything? Is this your 1st baby?
I can tell you that with my 1st one, I didn't show for a good while.......probably around 32 weeks. With subsequent babies, you can show earlier, but some don't. Just depends on the woman. I've had 4 and with my boys, I was SHOWING, with the exception of my 1st, but when my belly did poke out at about 32 weeks.......it was WAY out there.
With the one girl that I had, I didn't show until I was 34 weeks. And I'm carrying a girl this time and I just really have no belly (just an extra skin roll and that doesn't count). With girls, women tend to carry wide and not stick out as much. With boys, you tend to carry like you've got a basketball in there, way out and in front. That has held true with all of my pregnancies and I've had 3 boys and 1 girl (well, now 2 girls! lol).
And some women, despite what they are having, just carry small or their bellies don't poke out until much later. There's so many different scenarios and you could fit any of them. I was worried about our baby being small as well, just because of my belly size, but she's growing right on target. Since your baby is too, don't worry about the small size of your belly. You'll make yourself sick with worry and that's not good for you or baby.
I hoped this has helped you some to reassure you that there's nothing to worry about as far as the size of your baby vs. your belly size. As long as the ultrasound shows a normal size baby, your belly size doesn't matter. It will all be ok! Get some cute maternity clothes and push that belly out and pretty soon, it WILL be poking out and everyone will be able to see. LOL That's what I had to do. I just needed to FEEL pregnant and since I never could wear those cute maternity clothes in my previous pregnancies, I went and got some this time! And it was SO nice. And I look fairly cute which is amazing. And I LOVE how I feel in them. What a difference losing all this weight makes in terms of how it makes you feel being pregnant. I was always HUGE and pregnant. Now I'm not and maybe that makes a difference too in my belly size. This is my first pre-op baby. My other babies, when I delivered I was 245, 381, 407 & 450. I'll MAYBE be 210 at this baby's birth (I'm 6 foot tall with about 30-40 pounds of extra skin so I do NOT look 200 pounds! lol) so this is all different.
Ok, I'm babbling now, but hopefully you're more reassured after my novel.....lol Go to the maternity clothes store and have fun. It made a HUGE difference for me. I had a celebration last week when I went into the Motherhood Maternity store. lol I think the sales woman thought I was nuts getting all excited about cute maternity shirts!! LOL Good luck to you girl!

It is because you were so early post-op - the weight loss window can be up to 18 mos and you are still in that time. Also, if this is your first pregnancy, you have tight stomach muscles and that holds us in. After the first, people seem to to "pop" almost immediately
No big deal that you are not showing, as long as the baby is fine. Stop Worrying!!!
You could wear those shirts like back in the day with the graphics and all .
Blessings,
Leila

Well I am post tummy tuck of three years and five years out of RNY. I am near 35 weeks pregnant and I am just showing, but look more like I am about 5/6 months, certainly not that I am having a baby in five weeks. Even the nurse looked at me like I was crazy at my last appt when she ask my due date. I am carry pretty high and having a girl. She is very small and they anticipate she will be between 5-6 pounds, but other than that we are doing well.
Good luck! Stacey

I think I just looked overweight until I got to about 34 weeks and then I really popped! I didn't gain any weight, infact I lost weight the entire time. My baby was born at 40 wks 1 day and weighed 9lbs 5oz and 20.5in long. She was perfectly healthy!
There was also a woman that I worked with that kept her pregnancy a secret. NO ONE knew she was pregnant until it was announced that she gave birth! Everyone was pretty surprised! She is moderately overweight though. I don't think a woman would be able to keep it a secret all the way up to birth if she wasn't at least a little overweight ya know what I mean?

Iam currently 22 wks and I took this pic yesterday for another thread on another board where we talking about this same thing.
5½ months pregnant and I don't look like I am pregnant at all.
This is my 8th baby and ALL of my other pregnancies (boy or girl)I was showing by now, even in my obese states. I was really hoping that after having lost 130lbs I would be showing earlier, not later!
I was around 6mo post-op when I got pregnant. I lost an additional 17lbs after my BFP. Since the beginning of January my weight has stabilized and has remained between 198-202 since then. I bought a new (fake) wedding ring because my originals were too big. I was sized at about a 7 but could have squeezed into a 6.5 but thought about pregnancy swelling and possible weight gain so I stuck with the size 7.
NOW, that ring is getting too big! It's weird to be losing weight and NOT see it on the scale, but see it in my non-pregnancy clothes getting looser, and my rings getting looser.
But the biggest bummer is still NOT having a baby bump.
I have a friend who just had a baby and she said it'll be her last and that I could have her maternity clothes. That's a good thing because this should be my last and I don't want to spend money on maternity clothes. I've been thrift shopping for them.
Any ways, normally when I get clothes offered to me I worry about being able to fit nto the clothes. When she told me the sizes range from 18-20, I was startled and am now wondering if any of the clothes will fit me, LOL I'm in 16-18 for clothes now.
All of my previous babies were sized between 7-10 lbs. I am anticipating a smaller baby this time, because of my surgery, but I don't think she'll be under 7lbs. I would really love and 8-9 pounder, because I like birthing bigger babies. I find it's easier for me to birth them.
As of now baby is on track and perfect size and age. Only time will tell how big Adelyn will get.
Any ways, you are not alone. I may not be as far along as you yet, but I keep waiting for my belly to pop, but with all of my excess skin I don't think I will "pop" anytime soon.

Mom to 8 ~ Adelyn Grace arrived July 8, 2010!
With both of my pregnancies I could have hid them the entire time. I only looked pregnant when I tried to (wearing the clothes that would make anyone look pregnant lol). With my last pregnancy I only gained 5.5 pounds. Noah was born at 38 weeks and weighed 7lbs 3 oz. My my first pregnancy I gained 19.5 pounds. Hannah was born around 38 weeks and weighed 6lbs 11 oz.
I'm 5'8 and have a very long torso. I think that's why I didn't look pregnant.

I am 31 almost 32 weeks pregnant and I got pregnant 4 months after surgery... I am showing and lost 62 lbs since I found out in September. I only think I am showing because I am having twins... for the past 2 months I have felt 9 months pregnant. and stayed the same weight since december... My first pregnancy was before surgery and I was 400 lbs when I got pregnant with my daughter I didn't show until 35 weeks or so... and she was a big baby 8 lbs 12.9 oz... born 10 days after her due date...
