Hello Ladies,

I am so confused. The day after my proceedure(HSG) I took a ovulation test and it was positive. Then I took another one yesterday and low and behold another positive ovulation test. I took a pregnancy test just in case and it was negetive. Is it normai to ovulate more than once a month, could the test be wrong? Could a test read positive if it is not cause I usually know when I ovulate. The 13th was the day my body would have been on schedule to ovulate so I am completely confused.

How many days did you go between + opks?
I know I have had months were I have had two in a row. I have heard that when you test + like that you are probably just catching the very start of your surge. Do you have a chart we can look at? Do you temp so you can confirm O?

I am not sure what opk is but I will try and answer the best I can. I missed my p in Feb and then had a real heavy but short p on schedule the following month. I dont have a chart, how and where do I get one? I follow a ovulation calendar online if that is what you mean by chart. I dont confirm with my temp. The reason I am confused is because I have tracked my ovulation for 2 years now and this have never happened before. I keep very close track of everything on a calendar I keep in my purse. I have had a lot more things happen than I have posted it just has been such a roller coaster it would be too much to write but to make a long story very short, I got pregnant in 09-08 and lost it due to it being ectopic then my tube was removed then we started to try again to learn my right side was blocked. It was just unblocked on Friday the 12th. That is a short version. Thank you for your reply and if you have any other questions or comments please feel free. I am really wanting to figure this out. I emailed my OB and well she is a Kaiser doctor and well enough said.

OPK is a term for ovulation prediction kit. As far as tracking your cycles you are doing that so you have a good idea when you are ovulating. I will put a link in to my chart on Fertility Friend. I am not sure if thats the web site you use but I have found it to be very helpful. I have really found that tracking my cycles is the best way for me to confirm ovulation. Once you see that thermal shift in your temp you will know that you have ovulated. I am on the same page with you on the Kaiser Dr's. I had Kaiser for quite some time.
I don't know much about the HSG or what that did to your cycle. Maybe the stress caused the ovulation process to stop.
Hope you get more good answers from your Dr.

Unless you're using a digital OPK it's sometimes easy to think you got a positive when it's only an ALMOST positive.  If you're certain, it could be because your LH surge rises and falls.  You could have caught it on it's way up and back down again.  That happens to a lot of people.  I'd say that's most likely what happened.  The HSG could've messed up your ovulation making it late, but also, a positive OPK (ovulation test) is not a guarantee of ovulation, only that your body geared up to ovulate.  Sickness, stress, etc can cause you to gear up and then not ovulate.  So it's also possible you geared up twice and released once.

Clear as mud? lol
