So, My love and I have decided that we want a baby. This will be my second. My first was when I was obese and 19 yrs. Now I am at a very healthy weight and I took my nuvaring out about 1.5 hr ago. I want to know if any of yall had gotten off of the ring to start trying for a baby and if so how long should this process take? Any tips and or suggestions are greatly welcomed. THANKS! *hugs*

Jessica,

What great news!!  Best of luck to both of you!  My wife used the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor.  It worked like a charm.  Even if you have sex frequently, you may miss some or all of the three day window without using a monitor.  Also, lay flat on your back after sex and raise your hips up (on a pillow or something) so the little guys have an easier swim up the channel...  and stay that way for 15 minutes...

Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!

those are exciting times indeed!

Thank you so much chris! If I dont get pregnant in the next two months I will def be buying that! We do have sex very freqeuntly sometimes even 3 times a day. I'm concerned this might be lowering his sperm count. We have a very active sex life. I will def let it sit in there for a while with my hips propped up.

Thank you so much for your response!

I soo have to laugh... Raising your hips or putting your legs up in the air or any of that has absolutly no baring on anything. I find it so funny when people think that works. 2 out of 4 of my kids were concieved standing up in the shower so I'm pretty sure that's a myth... But I think that sex too often does lower his sperm count but really... what's ment to be will be. God is amazing and  It will happen in His time not yours. So Good luck with all that. Have fun trying!

Welcome!  I was on the nuvaring, took it out Jan 1, 2008 and conceived my daughter January 15, 2008.  For some it happens fast and for others it can take a little while.  Good luck :)

I will be TTC in June and have been trying to prepare. Taking folic acid, multi-vite, and extra vitamin E, calcium & Omega 3. Also making hubby take a multi-vite and E. I have been researching TTC in books and online, supposedly, vit E is supposed to increase sperm reproduction and help us gals with quality of cervical fluid. I also bought a couple bags of Fertili-Tea from Amazon, There are free ovulation charts online where you can type in the last day of your period, and it tells you the best best time of the month you are fertile.
Supposedly, lying on your back afterwards is only supposed to help the sperm pool around the cervix, which would help speed things along if either of you are having fertility issues.

Oh, forgot to add that I have the Paragard IUD, will be taking it out in May, so I am a little nervous that it may take a while TTC, which is why I have been a vitamin nut, Best wishes to you!
