Baby shoe organization??

I'm a little crazy when it comes to organizing things... especially when it's a bunch of tiny things. The baby has seriously at least 25 pairs of shoes!! Every time I go to a consignment sale I wind up buying 2-3 because they're super cute, practically unused, and less than $2 each. How can I refuse?!

I had a good bit already then my shoe-fanatic friend gave me another 10 pair along with all her 2yo daughter's clothes. I don't know what to do with all these shoes! I can keep them matched together with a big safety pin, but I'm too much of a nut to leave them piled together in a basket. I need them where I can clearly see all of them... sort of like an adult shoe organizer but for itty bitty shoes. Plus I want to separate them by size and type of shoe (see, I'm crazy).

Any suggestions?? I'd like to make something (or have DH do it) but thus far the only thing I've come up with is 1) gorilla gluing a bunch of clothespins to some kind of board and hanging it to the back of her closet door... but clothespins wouldn't do a good job of holding the shoes when the door swings open and shut; or 2) doing something similar but using 45degree angled dowels... sort of like a thread rack... but I really don't see either of us having the patience to drill 25++ holes and glue dowels into them.

This might be a lost cause but if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them!

Use an adult shoe organizer- Just keep them together in each pouch. Or, double up with two pair. If you get a clear one you would be able to see through it. Not as cute as making something, I'll give you that, but practical. I try not to go overboard on shoes. It still happened with my daughter, but I am trying to refrain this time, because we hardly got to wear them all and I am trying not to waste money this time around. Of course, we don't have a place where they are $2 a pair either! Good luck!

We have 4 kids and LOTS of shoes. We keep them on a vertical metal shoe shelf I guess you'd call it. It has 3 shelves and each shelf will hold about 5-6 pairs each. They are about 3-ish feet long, about 3-ish feet high and about 10 inches deep. So, it doesn't take up a lot of room. Other than that, if you're not using the shoes at the moment, and if they have ties, I just tie the shoes together and put them in a basket or another shoe shelf that we keep in the kids' clothes closet. You can organize the rows by size! See, I'm anal too! LOL
