Anyone have a homebirth/waterbirth?
i really wanted to have a home birth with this baby... however due to my sons prematurity and my cervix not behaving in the start ... i decided better to be safe then sorry and im doing the hospital thing... now that she did make term.. im 39 weeks im re-wishing i could do the home birth.. ohh well... maybe next time
I did not have a home birth with any of my kids, but my sister-in-law had an unassisted HBAC (home birth after cesarean). She is also very passionate about it. She did a ton of research about it and everything went great. She planned to have a water birth, but ended up having the baby in her bed. She loved the whole experience. It was just her and my brother.
That is crazy that people think you can't do a home birth because of GBS. They have nothing to do with each other! lol
If you are comforable with a home birth, I say go for it. The hospital closest to my SIL is home birth friendly and you can call them when you go into labor so that they are ready for you, just in case there is a problem. Maybe you can check if your local hospital has a policy like that.

I personally wouldn't I hemmoraged (can't spell) really bad after my birth and thank God I was at the hospital b/c I bled so fast and hard my OB was freaking out. My placenta shredded and he had to go digging for it. It was awful! Not to scare you or anything it was just SOOOO SCARY. I hope God gives you an easy fast safe birth but you never know. Good Luck

I'm planning my 6th unassisted waterbirth. This will be my first post-op baby though. (and probably ourlast baby too)
I will admit I am slightly nervous compared to the other births but I don't believe my surgery will cause any problems in my delivery.
I've also have a c/s and a hospital birth. This is our 8th baby, LOL
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, my UC water births and wouldn't trade them for anything. I do see an OB for shadow care and the hospital is less than 2 miles from our house so I can transfer if there are any problems, but other than that, we're planning for our 6th Water UCAC.
I have been asked if I can birth at home with my surgery and I never knew what to say, so I love the come backs on here. Thanks! LOL

Hi,
I have had 3 homebirths after my GB. I labored in water for 2 of them but didn't push in the water, I wanted out when the time came.
I am planning another homebirth with this pregnancy.
Let me know if you need more info.
