Let's talk about sex.... (counting for TTC)

Quick question because I am at work....

Let's just SAY I was going to start "counting" to TTC ....

The last few months I have spotted for 2-4 days prior to my period... do I count the first day of spotting (only on toilet paper when I wipe) as day 1?  Or is it when I start my main flow?

And what day is the best for sex?

I'm new to this TTC stuff since Cooper was a happy accident.  I think Cooper came about so
"easily" because I still had high progeterone from the supplements I was taking during my ectopic.... Had it not been for the ectopic I'm not sure I'd have Cooper.

I need to go to the OB and get my progesterone checked and/or supplements if I truly want to start TTC.

Thanks!

Cindy

I am pretty sure that you count from the first day of bright red flow, not just spotting. You can get the book "Taking Charge of your fertility" it's awesome! I ordered it from Amazon and it was about $20.

Yea for TTC!!! Cooper needs a gorgeous little sister or handsome brother!

The first day of actual bleeding is day one.

When I was TTC, I had an app on my phone that charted my cycles for me and told me which were my most fertile days based on my average cycle length.  We tried to DTD every day during the fertile days.

I got pregnant twice in 7 months this way with no other "aides" unless you count Metformin which I've been taking for PCOS for years.

Full red bleeding is day 1.

Good luck!  Hope you get a quick BFP...Mr. Cooper needs a sibling...doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl...you're a good baby maker!

How long is your cycle? Are you regular?

Hi Shari,

I THINK I am regular - about 28 days (29 this last month).

However - prior to my ectopic 1.5 years ago I had struggled with no period for almost 2 years... doctors were pumping me full of progesterone and finally I got on BC for a month to jump start it.

My concerns is that, while I'm having my period now, my progesterone is still low and would cause a problem.  (With Cooper I was on suppositories).

I know it boils down to me going to my OB and having him test my levels and/or getting supplements just in case.....

He offered me Clomid too prior to my ectopic and then Cooper.  (I didn't take it)

I really think if I hadn't been taking the progesterone when I was pregnant with what turned out to be an ectopic Cooper never would have came into the world.... because my body was still "high" on progesterone when I conceived him I had enough to last until I got a BFP and got a new script from my OB.

I will be making an appointment soon!

Cindy
