questions about a strange feeling

OK so I am just over 30 weeks with baby #1. I had my RNY over 3 years ago done LAP, I've also had my appendix and gallbladder removed. For the last week or so I've noticed a burning kind of pain in the lower left side of my belly. Maybe 1/2 way between my belly button and hip. It happens when I cough or sneeze and when I am getting into or out of bed or trying to lift my self out of a chair. Does this sound like round ligament pain to you or should I be worried about a possible hernia? It isn't constant or excruciating just moderately painful. If I switch position it usually goes away. If it gets worse or continues I will call my OB - otherwise I will definitely ask her about it at my appt in 2 weeks.

Thanks ladies!

I seem to always be pulling muscles or something in there when I was pregnant. I dont know Good thing its not constant though huh? My doc just said it was from growing and everything moving out of place. I think they said that about everything though but since I had Hayvann no more pain

could it be some muscles stretching?? Sounds like you have the pain when you're using some muscles...I'm no doc though :-)

Hope it isn't a hernia! I've heard those aren't fun, especially during pregnancy!

It sounds like round ligament pain, but ask your OB about it for reassurance at your next appt. You never can tell when hernias will pop up.

I would get that kind of pain even when I wasn't pregnant following my RNY- No clue why. It hasn't bothered me since I've been pregnant though, but I know what you mean! Good luck finding the answer.

LOL I was just on the phone with the OB office today cause I am having pain on the left side above my hip bone. She said it was my ligaments stretching.
