Having sex to start labor?

Ok, so it didn't work with my other two pregnancies, but who knows with this one.  I have had almost NO sex drive since the first of the pregnancy and poor hubby has had to suffer through it with me.  With the other two pg's, my sex drive was great and we did it all throughout the pregnancy. 

Well, we did it this morning, after hubby swears that it's been like 2 months since we've done anything (like I'm counting, lol).    I would love to have the baby anytime now, since my doctor says he won't stop labor after 35 wks.   I'll be 36 wks tomorrow and am so done being pregnant.   So if it started me in labor in the next little while, whether it be today or the next few days, great!  If not, oh well.

Has it worked for you?

I had a HUGE sex drive while I was pregnant! Almost everyday after my first trimester.  Well when I hit 37 weeks I was about 2 cm and 75% effacted and Dr said could be anytime I was like AAHHHH I want her out. So at 37 and a couple days we did it like rabbits and my contractions started picking up and didn't stop. Then the night before I had her we did it one last time and the contractions came on harder and  harder and I had her the next day. So sex can thin you because I went from 2 cm to 5 cm and 90% effacted. Dr said sex is the only TRUE thing that can work IF your body is READY!!! Good luck!!

it will only work if your body is 100% ready... AND you need to do it like 3 times a day

I was two days late with my son and I was SO DONE being pregnant. I had been having frequent BH contractions for a few days. After being up all night, we had sex about 10 am and I stayed in bed and woke up in labor about noon. I think I had probably been in early labor for a few days, but I know that it got things going from there! Good luck

I really wouldn't try to have your baby before term. Not trying to be a grumpy gus, but even at 36 weeks they can have issues. My 1st was born at 36 weeks and he had some issues. Would've given anything to not have driven through that tornado and gotten scared into labor......lol Seriously though, that happened. I think I was just stressed ANYWAY and the tornado didn't add good things to the situation. But, I would've done anything to have had him in there for at least 2 more weeks! But I know when you get to the end, you're just DONE.......trust me......I understand!

with my daughter she was like 10 days late by the time they induced me... We tried everything you could think of to go into labor... and never worked but she was my first and I know they can be stubborn... 

37 weeks is considered full term and everything is developed, the baby just gains weight after that. Both my kids were born a week early via induction and that's how this one will be, a week early. And to us when we're pregnant and miserable, a week or even a few weeks seems like an eternity.

So I'm guessing so far it hasn't worked for you?? :(

nope Liz,  I don't think sex is gonna work for me to get this baby out... lol     I'm glad that I'm getting induced though, so I have a for sure date of when I can have him.   I love being induced and not having to be surprised or wait for contractions or my water to break.   This'll be my 3rd kid and all have been induced- love it!

I was due Christmas day and that night my DH and I had sex to see if it would get anything going. I woke up 3 hrs later with contractions 5 mins apart! Anberlin was born 12 hrs later. It worked almost too well for us!! lol!
