Okay, I'm freaking out.

Why do some people keep asking the same question when they are only seeking a particular answer
.

IT IS A VERY BAD IDEA TO DELIBERATELY GET PREGNANT EARLY POST-OP!

Our bodies are going through such a major transition.  How dare us purposely inflict further trauma on the bodies that are to take care of our children and hopefully see them through their growing years?

Yes, many have had babies that turned out seemingly healthy when they conceived early post-op, but what price had the early post-op mom's body paid? Will the medical community find us responsible for issues with our children that could have been prevented had we waited?

Malabsorbtion is SERIOUS.  Being a parent is a gift and shouldn't be taken lightly.

Sorry, I'm just so sick.  I don't want to see our innocent suffer just because we want what we want, and we want it now.  Babies are NOT shoes!!!

Agreed 100%. I was a true opsie and I still beat myself up.

I wish people would just take better heed and not get pregnant early...especially the ones you can tell were on purpose or had been planning it. STOP IT! I understand some peoples kid clocks are ticking like mad (okay maybe I dont understand really cause I was not ready for kids) but you made a decision to make yourself healthier so why put that and your child in jeopardy all for selfish reasoning's. JUST WAIT!!

And it ****** me off even more especially because I am having so many complications that could easily be caused by my getting pregnant too soon. Yes many people who do get pregnant early are fine but there are still cases like mine and you cannot guarantee which end of the chart you will be on, so why play russian roulette with a gift you want of so bad. Anyone thinking of getting pregnant before the recommended 12-18 months follow my history and see what you can possibly be causing, the worry, the fear, the stress and then think 3 or 4 times if the chance is really worth it. If you still think it is (and there are no medical reasons why you should get pregnant sooner than later), seek psychological help cause you are truly selfish and not thinking correctly. Sorry if I offend anyone but I now feel very strongly about this since the shoe is on my foot.

AMEN! Mistakes can happen, and I know the risk of accidental pregnancy is higher for those with RNY, but really, the recommendations to wait are there for a reason!

My little Noah was truly a shocker and I have worried endlessly since day 1 about what might happen to him or me because of this pregnancy occuring too early after surgery. I would never risk the health of my children purposely and not to mention my health. I have struggled with this pregnancy and just want to be the best mom I can be for my current children and the one I'm growing. Don't get pg on purpose people before your bodies are ready! It's not worth it.
