Question about miscarriage

Generally about how long after a miscarriage can you have sex?  I know that because of the cervix dilatating you are at a risk of infection.  Anybody have any input?  I should ultimately call my doctor, but I haven't yet, and I just wondering if anybody knew from experience.

I have always resumed when the bleeding was over. Hope that helps. I have never had an infection or anything so I am assuming it was ok. I am not sure the rules for D&C but I had a natural and one with cyotec ( methotroxate).

Angie - my OB told me that I had to wait 6 weeks after my D&C to have sex.

I can just say from my experience, we just resumed sex after I quit bleeding. I never required a D&C.

I didn't have a D&C, and my Doc said 6 weeks.

I was coming here to see if you had an update. How are you hanging in there?? I know that is a stupid question -  I remember wanting to scream at people that I felt like ****!! I wanted to check in on you. I hope you're healing both emotionally & physically. (((HUGS))))

My doctor said whenever I felt like it but no trying for baby until my second period after miscarriage.

My doctor told me to wait 6 weeks for sex and at least one period after the miscarriage before trying to get pregnant.  Which he also wanted me to wait until I got some tests results back before trying again.  Before the 6 week wait was up, I had my period and during the 6th week we got the results of the tests back.  So on the last day of the 6 weeks were were good to go.
