Thats usually how we do it. Anberlin goes to bed in her crib by about 10pm and sleeps for about 6-7 hrs and then gets up to eat and usually stays in bed with us the last few hours of sleep. She goes back to sleep so much easier that way. It's totally selfish I know but it's going well for us. If she is completely passed out after her early morning feeding then I put her back in her crib but if she is still slightly awake I pat her bac****il she falls alseep and then I just let her sleep with us. I love her right there with us but I worry about starting a really bad habit! When Matt goes on the road for weeks at a time I am pretty curtain she will just sleep with me. I feel so much better knowing she is there incase of a fire or intruder for example.

How do you get them out of your bed? Hannah didn't start sleeping with us until she was around 15 months old (when I was very early pregnant and very tired lol). She starts out in her own bed, but ends up in ours before the night is over. I don't have the heart to let her cry it out. I guess she'll be in her own bed by the time she goes to college lol.

Now Noah is also sleeping in my arms most of the night. He turned blue on me 7 times while he had RSV (twice at home, the other times at the hospital). I don't think he will ever be out of our bedroom. I sleep with a light on now just so I can check his color all during the night.
I never thought I would have a family bed, but I do. For at least 4 hours most nights all 4 of us are in the same bed. I'm glad we bought a king size bed a few months ago lol!

SIDS will happen whether it's in your bed or in her crib, naptime or nighttime.... you can't worry yourself over it. It's like worrying about dying in a car accident every time you go to the grocery store. It's not a healthy way to live.
