Hi
I am sorry to hear of all your problems but I did want to let you know about my sons birth. My water broke at 35 weeks and he only weighed 4lbs 6oz. He was in the NICU for 10 days because he couldnt suck when he was born. I know this isnt your exact situation but wanted to let you know he was small but didnt have many issues at all. GOOD LUCK to you and your baby!!!

Thanks Barb!

I hope she wont have to stay that long. And I hope this is all just a fluke and she will be just fine and wont need to be taken early.

I was induced the day I turned 37 weeks with my daughter. I was not really physically ready to be induced and yes I did end up having a C section. But everyone is different. They gave me cervadil, 3 times in one day and I didn't feel anything until the evening and then all night I was having contractions, enough to keep me awake but not horribly in pain. That morning they started pitocin and that's when I really started dialating and contracting. Got an epidural and then started pushing around 6 or 7 that evening. Pushed for 3 hours and couldn't get the baby to pass under my pelvic bone so they did a C section.
I hope your baby will just have a big growth spurt and you won't have to worry about being induced.

Not a whole lot from me but good vibes. Did not have a small baby but a baby at 35 weeks and he was in NICU for a week but that was from swallowing fluid coming through. big baby but issues. So if they want her out at 37 weeks its for good reasons. I am thinking about you and know everything will be just fine for you two.

Thank you for the good vibes. I am hoping all will be just fine and if they do take her early all her functioning will be well.

Hey, I know I have posted a few times about IUGR but just keep your head up.  I am sure everything is great and they are just making you stress over nothing.  There is no reason to be upset or stressed over a small baby, hell I would rather a smaller baby than a sumo baby.  I honestly don't think that your surgery has anything to do with the weight of the baby, I could be wrong though.  I was a few years out when I got pregnant and Libby was tiny.  I can eat A LOT and definitely had no major issues with malabsorption.  In fact, when Libby was born the placenta was half the size it should have been and we did not know that until she was born.  That may be what the problem is here, the placenta might just be a bit small  or weak and therefore not delivering everything to the baby.  Yes, that can be dangerous if the placenta stops working completely and I am sure your doctor is keeping a close eye on that.
I was induced at 39w1d and ended up with an emergency c-section.  There are a few reasons and not all because of her size.  She was 5lbs 15oz (I think they said she was like 15th percentile) and we were in the hospital for 3 days but only because of my c-section.  She was 5lbs 13oz the day we left the hospital and has been gaining weight steadily every since.  She is still tiny, but 100% perfect and healthy.  She is 17 months old and can still wear 12 month clothes, except they are getting to be high waters on her LOL  Usually, the hospital won't let a baby go home if they are under 5lbs because most car seats are not made for babies under 5lbs (some are 4lbs).
Just keep your head up, eat what they want you to and rest.  I believe everything will be okay.  I will keep you and your little girl in my thoughts :)

Thanks again!

Yea she has officially been classified as IUGR. I am hoping it is nothing with the placenta (although at the same time I do because then we would have a reason). As of now they are going to start checking her growth and the placenta by doppler 2 times a week just to stay on top of everything. That way they will be able to adjust the plan if at any point the placenta starts to malfuction or stops working altogether.
