Baby monitor??  We registered for a Summer video monitor  (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3763011&fromRegistryNumber=44736173&product_skn=396308)   that was 200 dollars.  I knew probably no one would buy it because of the price.  Now I looked back at it and the reviews are not too good for it.

I'm worried because the baby's room is upstairs and we are down stairs.  She will be in a bassinet for a few months, but after that.  So for all of you mommy's with experience, which is the best monitor??  Doesn't have to be purchased from BRU either, I will buy one anywhere.  Thanks as always!!

I have http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2265802 this video monitor.  It does day/night and I LOVE it.  It works from our 2nd floor all the way to the basement where my husband hangs out.

i love it because baby monitors pick up every little tiny noise and exaggerates it 100 fold.  So being able to SEE what the sound is before rushing in about to have a heart attack was much better and mind settling.

I have a super cheap one, it was like $19 at Target, I dropped it in the pool TWICE and the thing still works LOL it also goes a long distance and I never get any interference or static.  I just went in the back and looked, its a Safty 1st. I had a video monitor with the triplets and it made me nuts, I would just lay there and stare at it, and then go running in there if something seemed "wrong". Usually to find three peacefully sleeping babies.

My husband finally took it away LOL

I use the Graco imonitor, and it works great. Consumer reports recommends getting a digital monitor because you're less likely to get interference.

We just bought the same one Jessica has last week. http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Handheld-Monitor-Screen/ dp/B0007OD8SU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1268318 732&sr=8-1

We picked ours up on Amazon for $132, no tax, free shipping.  Its basicly the same as the one your registered for just not as large of a screen and not quite as sleek.

We have been testing it out on the dog and we really like it, the picture is awesome, day or night.

My husband is an engineer so he was in charge of anything technical :)  He found this one was rated number one on Consumer Reports, etc.  It's more expensive everywhere else,  Amazon seems to have the best price.
