OMG 3 hours...seriously!?
I am going to echo what everyone else said --- seriously it goes quickly!
At first m biggest fear wasn't the pushing but the "24-48 hours" of labor women talked about... some longer.
But I started having regular contractions at around 3pm on Monday and Cooper wasn't born until almost 6pm on Tuesday and it went by so quickly !
The "pushing" took me less than 20 minutes with the help of a "snip" by my doctor (ugh) and a vacuum -- that my doctor said he never uses.... out came Cooper! I think it was maybe 4 big pushes and I didn't feel any of them because of the epi.
The worst of it was the mental worrying that something could go wrong.... but it all turned out okay!
You'll be fine!

I totally pushed that long with Zachary.... ugh...... I thought I was going to die and kept telling my mom that I just couldn't do it anymore! But he came out and everything was better!
With Avery I only pushed for 20 minutes :) That felt like nothing! ha ha... much better!
Everyone is different... you won't know until it happens! But totally worth it in the end :)

I was on pit and took forever to dilate from 3 to 5 but then when I got to 5 I was fully dilated in 25 mins and pushed for 20 and she was out. It felt like 4 days though. But you never know it all depends on how well you push and if you had an epi. Don't go into it thinking your going to get a c-section!!! You will be fine!!

I know it seems bad but it's not as bad as it sounds! I pushed for about 2 hours but it wasn't a nonstop battle to get the baby out or anything like that. Once my contractions were close together I would just wait for a contraction and then push for ten seconds, breathe, push for 10 seconds, breathe, push for ten seconds, rest. On the rest I would talk w/ my husband, get checked, drink some water and then do it all over again a few mins later when I got another contraction. It wasn't too bad. Time actually FLEW by! I also had an epidural so all I felt was some pressure every time I had an contraction. The pushing was just to get the baby to come down and once the nurse saw her head they got the OB and she came out in 2 pushes! I hope it goes as well for you as it did for me! I was very fortunate because I had a very easy labor and delivery compared to what I was expecting!

My first I started pushing at 1115 pm and he was finally out at 341 am. He is worth it though and I was no****ching the clock so even though I was tired I did it and have done it 2 more times I also had really high blood pressure and a fever at that time so I was not feeling so great. Its not as bad as it all sounds.

Hi there!
I am one of those, too. I pushed for just a little over three hours with Lydia, and to be totally honest, I really didn't mind it at all, and now I can hardly remember the pain at all (she's seven months old now). The reason they say three hours is the max is fetal distress, which should really be the only reason you would go to a C Section after that ... I hope it goes well! :-)
