Cold meds and Breastfeeding
Yep, any kind of decongestant can be a problem not only for your milk, but because it can be passed though to baby. This might sound gross and you might just laugh at me, but I used breastmilk instead of saline in my nose and it worked wonders, I use it on baby too when he is stuffy. It literally cleared me right out, and I believe it truly shortened the duration of my cold (everyone had it, and I was the only one who would use the BM and I was better days before everyone else). You can also get some Mothers Milk Tea and drink that while taking any cold meds, as it might help to keep your supply up.
I already have issues with supply so I didn't want to chance it, I just suffered though the cold, drank tea (mothers milk tea) with honey, got lots of fluid and did the breast milk nose rinse every time I started to feel too stuffy.
Good luck.
