Noah's getting anxious!
So, I've been having tons of contractions lately and the back pain is getting out of control. I've never felt this lousy at this stage of my pregnancies before. I went to the OB yesterday for my appt and filled him in. He decided to check me. Cervix is still closed but his exact words were, "His head is RIGHT there." This is worrisome for us all as I'm not even 34 weeks yet. He cut my hours back at work and is going to start seeing me weekly for non stress tests. Also informed me to call ASAP if things change/get worse. Last night was bad, contractions every 6-8 minutes for a couple of hours, but they let up when I went to bed. I'm pretty nervous that Noah's not going to stay put until he's supposed to. I'd be happy to hit 36 weeks, but we'll see.

I'm in the same boat. I've been having lots and lots of contractions on and off. I've had to stop working and have to be careful not to overdo it here at home. Doctor is going to check me this coming week, but wants me to come in if anything gets worse than it has been. He told me that he'd like for me to at least make it to 34 weeks if possible. I really hope we're able to hold off. I want to bring baby home with me and would love to avoid NICU time if possible.
Reading both of your posts struck a mommy red flag with me. If your docs are concerned enough to take you off of work, I would be asking for steroid shots for the baby's lung development. Even if given just a few days before you deliver, it helps, and it doesn't hurt a darn thing if you end up going full term. I sure hope that both of you will question your docs about this possibility. I am definitely not an M.D., but have a lot of child birth experience and a medical background for the last 21 years, so I do have "some" knowledge of this situation.
Good luck to both of you and lets hope you can keep those little ones baking until 36 weeks :)

Ended up in Labor and delivery last night. I had been working about 5 hours when things got nuts. I was running for crash carts, etc and over did it. I was having contractions every 2 minutes and the pediatricians I work with weren't up for delivering a 34 weeker, so they sent me by ambulance to the next door hospital. 2 liters of IV fluids later and things calmed down. Not sure what this means for me long term with work, but I'm calling the doc in the AM.
