Post Partum Question
I had a c-section and I bled for about six weeks, after three it was not alot, just enough to be annoying LOL I don't use pads either, so it was hard. I tried the regular maxi's at first and they sucked when I first got home. My advice is to swipe a package of the hospital ones, and then a small package of overnights for that first week or so. After that I used regulars, and after about three weeks I didn't need anything more then a pantyliner.
With Hannah I bleed forever! I think it was around 16 weeks. I had an IUD put in at my 6 week appointment. Apparantly by body didn't like it. Once I had it taken out the bleeding stopped.
This time I quit bleeding after about 3 weeks. Unless I've overdone it, then I start spotting again. I had a c-section both times. The hospital will probably send you home with some of the huge pads, which is great for the heavy bleeding. I don't use pads normally either. I think I used always with wings.

I used the urine control pads. They were long and wide, but thin enough so they weren't pillows. I REALLY liked the urine pads because after I had my last c-section, I had lost control of my bladder for something like 6-8 weeks......can't remember exactly how long.....that was 3 /12 years ago, but I know it was a long time. I don't know if it was due to the anesthesia or the fact that I had had so many c-sections or that my bladder went 'dead' or 'asleep' for a while or something....lol But if it weren't for those pads that soaked up my urine, I would've been peeing myself.
But after you have a baby and you have all that bleeding afterwards, you just feel like you NEED more protection than a small menstrual pad. Plus, when I was still 'bigger', the blood would pool then I'd move and all of the sudden have a big gush. Those pads were a lifesaver cuz I didn't feel like I was constantly bleeding all over myself. I get the Options pads from Wal-Mart. I get like the medium long ones or the long ones, depending on what ones they have. I use them for my periods too in conjunction with tampons cuz I can use a super plus tampon and bleed through it in 45 minutes to an hour so I wear the pads for extra protection too. I'm NOT looking forward to periods again! lol

Well when I was talking about using the tampon and pads and filling the tampon in 45 minutes to an hour, that was how my periods were before I got pregnant, not after having a baby. Sorry if I messed that up...lol
No, my post partum bleeding isn't usually extremely heavy. I just feel more comfortable using the urine pads cuz I used to flood and then the loss of bladder control was really bad with my last baby so I'm gonna use the urine pads again. I feel more 'protected'. lol
