I had a 1 in 5 chance of my baby having down's sydrome.  I had an amnio done and it came back that he didn't have down's syndrome.  I had two amnio's done with my son.  One at 16 weeks and another at 24 weeks.  It really wasn't bad at all.  You just need to take it easy a couple of days afterwards.  I hope everything works out.

Thank you so much Patty! Your story is encouraging. I'm hoping everything is all NORMAL. I go tomorrow (well, today now....it's past midnight! LOL) to see the maternal fetal specialist and getting the ultrasound done to check for any Down's markers. Still have yet to make up my mind about getting the amnio. It'll probably be one of those things where I'll make up my mind when I'm there. I'm about 90% sure I won't get it done though. Thanks for the encourgament!

I am thinking about you today!!!!!!!  I am hoping that the combo of the level 2 ultra sounds, a materal fetal specialist and genetic counsler will help narrow the results and they will be good!

Please keep us posted!
