VERY important question so please answer..
I am just curious if you all had the same problem..I just got off my nuva ring last month because my husband and I are trying to get preg. and I missed my period last week on thursday. I have taken two preg. tests and they say that I am not preg. I am curious if any of you have missed a period after you got off your birth contorl and missed because you just got off the BC the month before. Does it take awhile for your body to get used to not having the birth control??? Cause I had PCOS before surgery and I thought it was gone now but I am kinda freaking out that I am not going to be able to get pregnant because my periods were so iregular before. am I freaking out for nothing? Or does this sound weird.
when I've gotten off birth control, it would take a cycle or two for it to go back to normal (with the pill). I don't think I'd worry if I were you, just give it a month or two to even out and get back to normal. Now with the IUD that I was on for 2 yrs before I got pg with this baby, I got off it and got a period right away when it was due. But the IUD is a lot less hormones than the pill or nuva ring, so that's probably why.
And a lot of times, if you were infertile or had problems becoming pg before surgery and then have lost all this weight, it can turn around for you. A lot of women become very fertile post op and that's why they say to be on 2 forms of birth control at least a year to 18 months post op! It took me 2 yrs to get pg with my first and then 14 months and 2 rounds of Clomid to get pg with my 2nd. With this one (first baby post op), I was pregnant the first month trying! I was amazed, after the other two took so long!! So you never know.... weight can play a huge issue in your fertility!
I bet in another week or two your period will show up.... GL!

I was on the pill for years and went off and started right on schedule. I was shocked since I had HORRIBLE PCOS before I lost the weight. I got pregnant the first month we tried, lost that baby at 6 weeks. Had a few issues that gave me problems. They got fixed and the first month we could try again I got preggers. I am 8 weeks along and everything looks great. Good luck with all of this and try not to get so stressed out about it.

I was on BC pills for years and went off of them - it took me about 2 months for my cycle to regulate. The OB told me it can take up to 6 months depending on your body. I had PCOS pre-op and was told I would never conceive. Well they were wrong! I went off BC pills the end of January 2009, I was pregnant in April, had a miscarriage in June and was pregnant again in August!
There is definately hope! I'd give your body another week and if your period still doesn't show call your OB/GYN and talk to them about it.
Good luck!

I got pregnant with one of my kids right after stopping birthcontrol. With this pregnancy, I took five pregnancy test when my period was due with all negative results, waited a week past my period expectant date and what do ya know, I was pregnant............it just might be you need to wait a few days!
