i feel like a bottomless pit.....
Sometimes i wonder if the reason they tell you to wait 12-18 months before getting pregnant has less to do with what you can eat, than what your mind can handle. After loosing over 100 lbs stepping on that scale and being back to the 99lbs lost mark was strange. My fat girl mind was screaming at myself and the preggo mommy was telling me there are cocoa pebbles in the kitchen...
Sigh... im sure these hormones have alot to do with it..... go ahead and flame me if you want... i can take it... im just having a hard time dealing i guess. i know better than to put my self or my baby in harms way, just needed to vent....
Nope I understand. While I got prego farther out it still messes with my mind that I have gained and boy have I gained. While several on the board have only gained a handful of pounds I have gained around 25lbs and I was getting told at the doc's office all about my "excessive weight gain". WElll....at some point you just have to come to terms with the fact that you are gonna gain no matter what you eat if your body is set that way. They had me on 1500 cals and I was gaining. When I was eating 2000 cals I was losing. Go figure my body is weird.
What comforts me is knowing that my tool is still here and I will have it after she comes. And I dont like the feeling of the added weight, because it reminds me of where I've been. Huffing and puffing up stairs is NOT Cool...so I am getting together what I'll do when she gets here. I am going to breastfeed her if I can so that should help and I will def start exercising more too. Just lay off yourself and eat what you crave(in moderation if possible).
You will be fine!

I hear ya! I have gained 17 lbs so far! I was only supposed to gain 15 according to my doc cause I'm still overweight. But I lost 120 lbs before I got pregnant and so seeing a gain is like not fun. I of course know it's for a good reason so I just keep planning on getting really strict once the baby's here. The last thing I want to do though is see the 300 lb mark again. If I do, that will really freak me out. I'm at 277 right now
I was 4 years out of surgery and seeing the scale go up was hard mentally. I don't think you'll get flamed here for feeling like you wish you didn't have to gain weight.
You're smart enough to know what is best for you and your baby and you'll do it.
Coco Pebbles sound awesome - and I'm not pregnant! (I think).
Take Care,

I completly understand! Everytime I have to step on that hatefull scale I find myslef holding my breath, because I have been eating so much more lately than I have eaten since my surgery. I am having horrible cravings for sweets and cheese, and I am satisfying those urges too lol. I am hungry as soon as I wake up, and hungry when I go to bed. I have even woken up in the middle of the night and come downstairs for a little snack. I ate almost half a bow of sugar free candy one day! When I got weighed yesterday I was sure i'd gained ten pounds in the two weeks since my last appointment, but I was exactly the same. We will always have our 'fat girl' mentality, and if someone flames me for saying it, whatev. Just remember that you are eating for two, and that when the baby comes, you will be able to find that strength you found post op, and loose what you need too. :)
Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!

You are definitely not alone. I did really well for the first several months but for the last couple, I feel insatiable. I'm still not gaining a whole lot... I think about 6 pounds total so far... but it feels like 20.
