The docor didn't ake the news well. But this is a happy thing and I refuse to let her make me feel like I need to apologize. I'm sill losing weight.I'm seeing the OB on monday bc im not sure how far along I am. I was thinking 4 weeks he feels im further along.
He said I may require more sono to examines babys growth more. What have you guys added to your diet to insure the baby gets what it needs.
Thanks

You need to add carbs to your diet immediately. You have to stay out of ketosis - it is not good for fetal development (the important parts like brain and nervous system) You'll also need to up your calories by about 300 calories a day and bump up your protein to around 90-100 grams a day.

Make sure that you are taki!ng your vitamins, add calcium and folic acid if you weren't taking them before. Oh and get in at least 64oz of decaf, non-carbonated fluids a day - of course water is best!!

My OB has me going for 'monthly ultrasounds to monitor the baby's growth - torture I know! lol Everything is going perfectly and I am 28 weeks.

Oh and if you still have weight to loose don't be afraid if you still see the scale going down, although it should slow significantly.

Good luck!

Congrats and welcome.  I was 10 months out when I found out I was pregnant.  My daughter turned out fine and was a healthy 8 pound 11 oz.

Just make sure you do get in your protein, vitamins and yes add carbs.

congrats again,
Bambi

I was 7 months out when I got pregnant. I am currently 10 weeks along and just saw the nutritionist yesterday because I have lost 7 lbs this month. They upped me to 2000 calories a day- which just seems like A LOT to me...I am also having monthly sonograms, I had my second yesterday, I did measure a little small (by 5 days) so I'm hoping that getting more calories will help the baby get bigger! But so far everything else has been great. Don't let the doctor discourage you just follow what they tell you and everything should be good.
