Sore/Tender Breasts

I am not pregnant, but we are in the process of trying.  I am 35 and have never tried, so embarrasingly enough, this is all new to me, so please bear with a stupid question.  :)

The last year or so, my breasts have been sore and tender about a week prior to my period, however this week it started again but they hurt worse than they have ever hurt before!  It hurts just sitting.  I am not due to start my period until next Thursday, and don't want to spend the money on an early results test.

Did anyone have any symptoms like this?  Also, do sore/tender breasts last throughout the entire pregnancy?  I am in so much pain I don't know if I could bear this for 9 months!

Thanks

When I got pregnant with DS my first symptoms were super sore breasts.... tmi my nipples felt like they had clamps on them.   I was actually sleeping on my stomach one night and woke up from the discomfort.  Anyhow I attributed that pain to PMS because I had that issue from time to time.  So with that pregnancy the breast pain and soreness lasted till Patrick was born and then some.  Once I even asked my OB if there was any way to make them feel better.  He laughed and said no.  So to answer your question in super long response, breast tenderness and pain is both symptomatic of pregnancy and PMS.  Thankfully this pg I did not have that issue because it was terribly annoying.

Good luck with TTC!  I hope you get your BFP soon!!

By the way, all things I have posted/commented/breathed are a result of my own personal experience/education/research. Matter of fact, treat it all as a delusion:)

With my first pregnancy, sore breasts were a big clue too- This time around they were sore from even before I missed and could take a test, but luckily after a few months they got better. It could also be the hormones, it's hard to seperate, especially if you have it every month. You could probably test a day or two early with a more expensive test (Not from dollar tree or something comparable) like EPT- I tested a day or two early with both and got a positive. Good luck with the wait! It sucks!

OMGZ the boobs hurt so bad! please dont boot me outta here but they hurt and itch so bad that i was on the train ride home from work just scratching away...trying to be discreet. A lady came up behind me once I got off the train and she told me to boil cabbage leaves and chill them, place them on my boobs for relief.....naturally i was like WTH. but i tried this and it WORKED!! Yes i look crazy at night when the hubby climbs in the bed and says....honey could you remove your cabbage please, you left one in the bed this morning!!

from www.downthelane.com:

One of the ways that you can soothe your sore breasts during pregnancy is through the use of creams and lotions. There are a variety of products that are specifically designed to soothe sore breasts during pregnancy. Some of these creams use lanolin, a common ingredient in hand and body lotions. There is some concern (although studies have not proven conclusively that there is any specific evidence of this or danger in this) that lanolin may contain traces of pesticides. For this reason, some of the other breast creams tend to go more toward an organic side of things, and rely more on things like cocoa butter, mango butter, shea butter, and herbs such as calendula.

Another common way to soothe sore breasts during pregnancy is through the use of a compress of some sort. Borrowing the idea from many nursing mothers, some women have used cabbage leaves to soothe their sore breasts during pregnancy. This is really as simple as it sounds. You simply place cold cabbage leaves over your sore breasts, or even inside of your bra. In addition to this sort of remedy, there are also a variety of compresses available that a woman can buy. Some of these rely on herbal ingredients, and can be used warm or cold. Some of these sorts of compresses are more along the lines of an ice pack, and use cold to numb the sore breasts.
