OK I dont know who could answer this, if anyone... but I am 28 almost 29 weeks with twins... and still 355 lbs "around there"  Now that my baby bump is huge, all my belly fat is being pushed down below my belly button... It hurts and when I touch it my fingers mold into my skin like play dough or something. This happened 2 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter so I just deal with it usually... But last night after my shower I noticed it was hurting to touch like really bad on my belly there so I looked at it, and  it's turning all red and splotchy like a rash or something and I thought it was from my extra skin fold hanging and rubbing but it don't rub where it's red at all...It don't itch or anything but hurts like I said. Now I go to my OB on Monday morning so I will definitely ask about that then... Just wondering if anyone has had this happen before to them...

Chrissy,

You can get infection ANYWHERE in your body.  If your skin becomes red, hot, swollen, and painful...I suggest either an urgent care visit or an ER visit.  You DO NOT want an infection developing anywhere.  I am telling you this because...even though I am skin and bones, I give myself injections in my hiney (as well as my doctor's office gives them too me there too) about 3 times a week for nausea and migraine headaches.  I have had an infection in my booty that is UNREAL!!!  My ass is swollen so big...I do not look like a petite white woman anymore...I have the betty boop bootilicious thing going on back there and it hurts like a MOTHER!!!!!  I realize you have not done anything invasive to cause an infection, but you can get infection anywhere in your body for no apparent reason.  So, honestly...honey...if it gets worse or to the point where you are really in a lot of pain or concerned...take that trip to a medical facility.  You may need some antibiotics....I am on round 4 of antibiotics and my husband (just as a joke so I hope no one takes offense to this because we are as far from bein racist as you can be)...calls me Obamaniqua..if I was not so embarrassed I would put up pictures...but I am not into showing my bare hiney to everyone one the internet...LOL  I even have pockets of "fluid" right above my tail bone that are about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide...and I have gained 5 pounds this week (all fluid I am sure)....so watch it use your best judgement and don't feel stupid for going in if you are concerned...they get paid the big bucks for answering our questions :)   I have been a nurse for years, and I have to admit sometimes in the back of my mind I would think...what the hell is this person here for...but then I would remember...that to them...this is not an every day occurrence, and they are worried, and it was my job to reassure them.  I normally would tell you to use a heating pad for infection, but since your are pregnant...I am not sure that is the right thing...so I am holding off on ANY medical advice, as I would hate to stear you wrong.  Now, you can use ice packs and that won't hurt a thing on for 10 minutes off for 2 hours...but the heat thing I am not sure of.  I hope you feel better, and this is not something you have to "endure" for the rest of your pregnancy :(  If you want to talk...just msg me...I'm around most of the time and I would like to think I am fairly well versed in medicine as well as pregnancy...I mean...I have been around the pregnancy block a few times...10 pregnancies and 8 live births...I ought to have learned something by now...LMAO  I can even give you my cell to text me if you would rather talk like that...I have that on me 24/7 because of the kids...so you SHOULD get an immediate answer :)  I will PM you my number.

Hugs and keep us posted!

i dont want to scare you but that really does sound like cellulitus (skin infection) i know someone who had gotten cellulitus from a cut as small as a paper cut. but cellulitus is NO JOKE and sometimes needs to be treated with IV antibiotics and such. i say dont wait for your appointment and head to a walk in clinic or ER right away. Better to be safe than sorry. I hope it is nothing ...

I cleaned it up right away and thought nothing of it... Now where it was red last night it just looks like a skin on skin rubbing kinda scratch to it... but it hurts my skin being like that maybe I will head to the hospital tonight thanks...
