That is an interesting article. I agree about the possibility of narcissism. I also thought it was very interesting that in the 1950's making obedient children was more important than it is now. I hate when I see parents trying to be their kids friends instead of being their parent. There is nothing wrong with being the authority figure in your kids life.
Of course I have all of these opinions and my first baby isn't born yet. I am not naive enough to think that I won't struggle with these things. It will be interesting to hear what people have to say about this.
