Baby #8 is a . . .
[GIRL] I can't believe it! Dh thought it was going to be a [girl] and the kids were split with each gender wanting their own gender, of course until today when they ALL decided that it would be a [girl]. I don't know why or how but they did! When I asked them before we left for the u/s they all told me [GIRL!!]
I wanted to believe them but I couldn't and then when the u/s tech told me it was a [girl] I thought she was lying and she even checked more than 3 times for me to make sure I wasn't dreaming!
I am just so happy to have my crew evened up! We'll have 4 boys and 4 girls now. Just a perfect way to round out our family! It's exactly what I wanted!
Our plan was to bring all of the kids with us to the u/s but then all ended up catching the cold I had last week so I wasn't about to bring 7 sick kids with me to an office filled with pregnant women.
So we stopped off at Wal-Mart and picked up a blue cake and had them write "It's a Girl" in blue for them too so when they saw it they'd think it would was a boy. Sure enough they were disappointed when they saw the blue cake until they read what the cake said, LOL

Mom to 8 ~ Adelyn Grace arrived July 8, 2010!
What a neat way to tell everyone....when I found out, I thought for sure it was a boy...my sister and brother all have boys, so not lil ladies from birth (I have a six year old step daughter), so my mom, sister and brother were all hoping I could pull off the girl....when we found out it was a girl, I called each of them and said the same thing..."well, I will give you a clue to figure out the sex...the baby will have plenty of hand me downs"...course I meant from her sister, but each of them said..."It's a boy"...thinking all the nephews....so it was great to trick em! Glad all is well...and you family is set! Good luck for the rest of the pregnancy! Stacey

CONGRATS!!!! How great it will be to bring home one last little princess to even out your family and make it perfect for you :) I sure know what you mean about making the U/S tech check and recheck...when my hubby and I went in for our baby #8 U/S I was sure it was another girl...I mean...we have 7...so why would it change this time? But when they said boy...I was like..where..show me again!!! LOL My hubby even demanded the radiologist himself come in and take a looksee to be sure. When he told my hubby...yep definitely a son you are having...my hubby cried...I never knew how badly he had longed for a son, as he had never said one word in the past. He was always just happy to be having a healthy baby (or so I thought). Needless to say, we have one very spoiled little man...of course I tease my hubby that he will probably be gay being brought up by all of these girls. He used to just loved to have his fingernails and toenails painted. Well hubby had 16 fits, so I would make them use clear polish on him...lol There is no worry now...he is ALL boy. He can make a makeshift gun or weapon out of anything..hangers, rocks, pieces of wood, straws...you name it...its a weapon or gun...LOL I do still tease my hubby bout the fingernail polish just to gouge him a little every now and then..LOL I would not trade any of my babies for anything in this world (even though none of them are babies anymore)...I am sure you are the same way! I would love to see a picture of your complete family...that would be so awesome :) I definitely agree that 8 is the magic number...it was for us :)
Good luck, and again, congrats to you, your hubby, and your oh so excited siblings :)

LOL Thanks.
I am the oldest of 6. My parents had 4 girls so when my brother came out my dad was in disbelief when they told him it was a boy. Then they had one more girl, LOL
My poor brother was surrounded by girls too and we dressed him up in girls clothes and made him do fashion shows. We'd put make-up on him and everything too. My brother is now 27 and very much a man. He's a Marine, married and has a son himself.
Now my 1st born son (3rd child) enjoys some of the girlie things. He likes getting in dresses from time to time and he likes getting his nails done too. I'm not worried though, although I doubt I would be "worried" no matter what, LOL Even when my DS when through a short and brief phase of "wanting" to be a girl, it lasted all of 1 day and then went back to being a boy and hasn't looked back. We just went along with it and let him get it out of his system or we were ready to embrace him if it was TRULY what he wanted.
Now as far as "bringing baby home", LOL, well baby won't be going far since we birth at home. ;) Most of the kids (if not all of them) will probably be in the room when she is born as they have been in the past. I know some of them are really excited to be doing this again and they are already talking about who will cut the cord and who will get the blanket or who will get the baby hat, diaper, etc etc etc. They are more than ready for baby to get here.
Now if only we can decide on her name. It's between Arden Willow or Adelyn Grace and we love both names equally. Argh!
