Are you sure they don't want more attention, need to swing or a pacifier?

6oz is usually the goal you want to be at around 6 mos (so that you have room to go to 8 oz later in the year).

Everyone has their own opinion about cereal in the bottle but aside from contributing to diabetes and obesity later in life, it tends not to help too much.

Or I could be off and maybe they're just hungry.  Can you call the pediatrician?

they get attention all day long, they have pacifers clipped on at all times and in addition to being held, cuddled, tummy time they rotate between swing, bouncer, car seat...................

i will call tmrw...........thx

They might be going through a growth spurt and might need just a little extra.

My daughter was born Nove 22 and right now she takes an average of 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. Now some days she will take 2 every 1 to 1 1/2 hours but she has bad reflux so doc said thats ok if that keeps her from hurting so much when she takes a full bottle. Her pediatrcian said I needed to add a teaspoon of cereal per ounce in morning and at night for those feeds after her zantac med. I only make her 2 ounces at a time though. This morning she downed 6 ounces in about 45 minutes and then was happy for 3 hours. She does sleep nights from 1130-12 till about 10 in the am though so mornings she acts like a piggy. Her pedi guidelines say 5-8 ounces every 3-4 hours. Not sure if that is in general for all docs or just hers.

OUR BABIES ARE 1 DAY  APART , HOW MUCH DOES YOURS WEIGH?

6OZ IS GONE IN LIKE 10 MINS OR LESS YOU WOULD THINK I WAS STARVING THEM,LOL

THATS AWESOME WITH THAT SLEEP PATTERN 10 HOURS I WISH MAX HERE FROM THEM IS 6 OR 7HRS

DOES SHE SLEEP THAT LONG BECAUSE YOU ADD THE CEREAL BEFORE BEDTIME?  I WONDER IF I SHOULD ADD LIKE 1 AND A 1/2 TSP TO THERE 6OZ BOTTLE????

The only reason we had to add cereal was for reflux. Would not have otherwise. It cant be helping her sleep cause she has the same thing in the morning and stays awake most of the day. Only naps about 30 minutes 2 or 3 times a day thats it. She weighs about 13 1/2 right now. Sometimes though she just eats more than others but doc said thats normal. :)

jayson is 16 months... he also didnt like the whole milk at first.. i tried lactaid (super sweet).. its expensive but eventually he took the whole milk..

thats alot of formula... that being said boys tend to take in more then girls.. i think jayson was taking 6 oz every 3 hours at that point... are they closer to 4 months?.. i wouldnt bother giving cereal in a bottle... really doesnt do much... maybe they are ready for solids?... try from a spoon.. i started jayson at around 3 months on solids.. i think closer to 4 months

My son will be 3 months old next week.  He's a pigglet! He eats 6 oz every 3-4 hrs and has been since he was 5 weeks old.  I think he's around 14-15 pounds.  He's in size 3-6 month and some 6-9 month.  He seems hungry all the time as well, so I think it's time we start rice cereal with a spoon and see how he does.  My older kids started solids at 4 months.  He goes to bed about 9:30pm and sleeps until 3am.  Takes a bottle and then back to bed until 7-8am

My first born had rice in her bottle from the time she was 2 weeks up till 8 month old b/c she had massive reflux to the point she was losing weight.  I will say it didn't help her sleep any more at night.  So, I think it's a myth that they will sleep longer at night if you put rice in their bottle.
