Stocking Up On Diapers
So, did you stock on various sizes of diapers before the baby? If you did, how did you decide which diapers to stock up on? Also, what did you do if your baby was allergic to a certain brand that you bought?
Some swear that Huggies are the best that don't leak. Some swear Pampers are the best to not leak. How do you decide what is the best to buy?
Any comments appreciated.

It's so trial and error. I do daycare and I know what ones I like best. But it so can be different for each child. For sizes Newborn-size 3 I will be using pampers. Then I'm switching to Sams club diapers. I use those a lot at my daycare. The families provide them and a lot of people I know use them.

I definitely think it is trial and error. My Mom stocked up on Huggies for us while I was pregnant. She bought a bag or box of diapers every pay day, twice a month, from the day she found out I was pregnant. She bought Huggies because that is what my brother used for all 3 of his kids. I loved Huggies and hated Pampers. I found that Pampers sag in the crotch and also look like the poor kid has a load in their paints. Again, personal preference. It was nice though, we almost went an entire year without having to buy diapers! At the beginning we did have to buy preemies and then I think the last month we had to buy a small bag.
Wal-mart does take diapers back without a receipt, you can exchange or return. Otherwise, just tape the receipt to each bag/box just in case they don't work out.

I am pretty much a huggies kind of person. I know everyone has success with different brands though. I have stocked up so much I still have not had to buy diapers and Hayvann is now 3 months old and will not need any for at least another month to month and a half. We bought newborn 1 and 2's. Has been nice to not buy any so far. Then again we stocked up on everything. Have not bought soap, wipes, lotion or diaper rash stuff. NICE!!

Thanks for your responses. I guess it is just weird about diapers. I have huge skin allergies and so does hubby. I could only wear one brand of diapers. I would just hate to stock up on something and they baby can't use them. I will save receipts.
I had a coupon for some Johnson & Johnson stuff. So, this weekend we bought some baby lotion and body wash. So, we will stock up on some stuff.

I too have alot of skin allergies, and my boys could only use pamper sensitive dipers and wipes. Once they hit about 1 or so they could use huggies and sams brand. I never went with the store brands because I didnt want to chance the allergies. We too are stocking up on dipers and wipes, and at this rate shouldnt have to by dipers, ever. Lol.
Super proud mommy to Dylan, Owen and Sophia Brianne!
My sister is buying us a box of diapers every week, in a varity of sizes and brands, and taping the reciepts to the top. I was going to do the same thing but someone on another message board gave me a great idea.
Every week I have been buying a Target gift card for $25 and holding it back. Its kind of like a savings account for diapers. Then when the baby comes I can use those gift cards to buy diapers, what ever size and type seems to be working.
