Higher tolerance to sugar after Gastric Bypass
Does anyone else have a higher tolerance of sugar while being pregnant? I am 1 year and 7 months post op, and I am able to eat cookies and cupcakes (I ate 2 of each yesterday) with no pain or issues. I am scared that I can start eating normal again and will gain weight...or all the sugar is going to my baby.
My tolerance for sugar has gone way up too! I am trying to pretend that it's not but it has. I hope after the little one comes that I go back to getting sick off the slightest bit of sugar!
I find I can eat more now too, so I have gone back to measuring out my one cup servings just to be sure I am not over eating.

At first my tolerance actually went WAY down. But now it's about normal (for how I was after surgery). I have a friend that I work with who's tolerance for sugar, fat & amount of food went way up during pregnany. But it went right back to normal after pregnancy and she lost her weight pretty fast. I am hoping that happens to me because I am able to eat much more now than before pregnancy.

My sugar tolerance is actually less than it was before I got pregnant. I used to like to eat a stick of a Nutty Buddy every now and again for a treat and as soon as I was pregnant I ate one and got the most wicked diarrhea. Thinking maybe it was a fluke, I tried to eat one again and got the same result. I tried one more time a week later and the same thing so I just gave up with anything sugary...period....at least til I deliver.
I don't pu**** too much since I've been pg, but I notice I can eat more of the sugary stuff and not dump (which is diarrhea for me) as often as before I got pg. I've heard other women say on here that their sugar tolerance has gone up during pg and then goes away after they have the baby. I think it's cuz you are feeding two people and so you can eat more sugar! lol I have lost the weight pretty quick pre op with both my other 2 babies and hopefully this one will be the same (I've gained 22 lbs so far). I haven't gained too much weight so far in the pg and am surprised because I've upped my carbs quite a bit and have been eating more sugary stuff. Plus, I feel like I eat a lot more and more often than before I was pg. I hope that hungriness goes away after I have the baby, I'm sure it will (have to eat every 2-3 hrs and am starving!!).
