Does anyone take depression/ anxiety meds and breast feed?

I was on Zoloft all through my pregnancy and am still on Zolft.  My daughter is 25 months and is STILL nursing.  Zolft is THE SAFEST anti-anxiety medication out there.  It is absolutely the most studied so the data is solid.  It's been prescribed for pregnant and nursing mothers for more than 30 years.

I was worried, for sure, but I came to the conclusion that having a happy, non-anxious mama was worth the minute risk of adverse side effects from zoloft.

What I gathered before starting meds was exactly what Mary said...about zoloft. I am on paxil, as there is a lot of studies on it as well and I took it myself 20 years ago with no ill side effects. After speaking to my ob and my pcp they agreed paxil was best in my situation. So, yes you can take anti anxiety meds while bf. My baby hasn't shown any ill effects Shari

thanks guys....he my OB told me that new studies have shown it not to be so safe (zoloft is what I was on.)
the baby's Dr also told me the same soooo....it looks like I am just going to have to decide it for myself. I just want what is best for both....but from what I have read it appears to be one of the safest.
