SO my nerves are starting to take over and I am trying to get things in line now before I am huge and uncomfortable at the end. So is there anything that you wish you had done or prepped before baby came? This is baby #1 for us. My hubby will be going back to work pretty quickly after We come home from the hospital but I will have plenty of other help during the day by way of my Mom, Grandmother, Aunts and friends.

I do plan to do a major grocery shopping to make sure that we have all the staples in the house (plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, tea bags - all the things I use every day etc) a few weeks before baby is due, and I'll get some meals in the freezer and have easy to prep things on hand (it'll be spring so burgers to grill, marinated chicken breasts etc).

Thanks ladies!

Well...at this point, I am tired and achy and really don't feel like walking around stores.  I wish that I had already gotten more of the essentials for the baby.  We were trying to wait until after the baby shower, which is this Saturday.  However, I am sure that we are still going to need to do some shopping.

It is definitely a good idea to stock up on your staples too.  I am going to go to Costco and get some things that I can just microwave or pop in the oven during the day, while I am home with the baby.

Take care!

OK thanks!

We also have a grocery store that lets you shop from home then you go pick it up. They only charge $10 which is nice. So I can go onlne and make my list then send anyone to go pick it up for me!

Figure out who is going to do the cleaning.  When people stay with you the house gets messy really fast.

My mom is a great grannie but a HORRIBLE house cleaner.  She asked how she could help and I said she could clean the bathroom.  Her answer to that was to pour Mr. Clean into the sink and toilet.  Done.  No scrubbing or anything.   So 10 days after my c-section I was cleaning the bathrooms.

Well I won't say that I Don't tire easily - but usually I can go until noon.

Luckily too my Mom and Grandmother are excellent cleaners and will do whatever is needed while they are at my house, cook, clean, whatever needs to be done. They also know that I'll need to be napping so they will occupy themselves. Good news too - they go home at night! lol They all live within a 1/2 hour and will only stay if I think I need them (maybe the first night or 2 if I am sore or scared to be alone with the baby)

Thanks for all the tips guys!

I stocked up on diapers and wipes and right now Hayvann is almost 3 months old and still have not gone to get any of that and wont need to for at least 2 more months. I also stocked up on quick snacks like energy bars cereal bars and bottled waters. In the begining eating a real meal is hard for me so I have to do the quick things. I am not good at the napping so I was too tired to eat so when she slept I was cleaning or doing laundry. I have 2 big boys though so no resting things still have to get done. I think you will do an awesome job.
