Choosing names...times two, argh
I hear you on the popular names. I didn't realize until AFTER I had Sydnie how popular the name had become. We also considered Emma, Grace, and Olivia. I did have one name that I never shared with anyone except my husband and that was Audrey.
Elizabeth Ann is my closest cousin's name. As for the nickname, I say wait until later...it's hard enough deciding the real name. Besides, you don't know until you see them whether the nickname fits or not. We assumed that Sydnie's nickname would be Syd, naturally. No...I call her Beansie. And you're right...he can't exactly tell you 'no" afterward.
I'm so with you on the pink thing. After 3 boys, my husband, even our cat was male...I didn't realize how badly I'd needed pink in this house. I was one of those "I REFUSE to put my girl in all pink if we have one." The second I saw her, I bought pink everything...still do mostly, and she'll be 2 in just a few weeks.
Good luck on your girl naming mission. I LOVE the name Cecil. Very strong and masculine.

I did not look through too many girl names cause I had our girls name picked out 17 years ago when I got pregnant with our first son but I had a few friends whose name I loved and thats Olivia and Alexi. Not good with names though. Mine are different and spelled different. :)

I think Elizabeth Ann is a cute name, but so much more common than Spencer & Cecil. I love that you want a name that is uncommon. I totally know what you mean about all the little girls running around with names like Isabella & Olivia now. They are GREAT names, but too popular for me to want to use now.
I really like Piper (someone said it earlier), I think that's cute! Good luck, this is so tough. We've been trying for a baby for 5 years, so we've known that whole time what we'll name our kids. I am so glad we agreed so easily. I can't imagine hashing this out with pregnancy brain.

Mommy to 2 of the most beauiful little girls in the whole universe and still in love with my hubby of 8 years. LIFE IS GOOD!
When I was pregnant with my boy/girl twins I loved the names Sawyer (boy) and Saylor (girl). Hubby didn't like either one. LOL
There are a lot of boys around here named Sawyer, but no girls named Saylor. I am not having any more children but if I did have another girl I would still name her that. LOVE it!
Good luck!
