I am 8 months old today! (long w/ pics)

ETA - Mom says that Easter Candy is evil.  She is on a sugar binge and loves mini-Cadbury eggs (the candy coated ones).  She lost 20lbs of the 30 she gained with me, but the last 10 (and another 10 that was there before pregnancy) are stubbornly hanging on.  Of course if she'd stop eating the candy and snacks she eats they would probably go away.  Still....those mini-eggs are only around once a year, right? 

Hello Everyone!

I am 8 months old today!  My mommy says she cannot believe it's been 8 months already! 

I am 24lbs by the doctor's scale as of last Thursday when I went to get shots.  I am also 30.5" tall. 

Mommy is worried about my speech/language development.  I am a very quiet baby.  I laugh out loud a lot and I squeal in delight (especially when I see my dog!) but otherwise don't babble much at all. 

I JUST started saying "ba ba" but I only say it a few times a day.  Most of the time I am quiet and busy pulling things off tables / throwing things and playing with my toys.  Oh I also love to watch TV so much my mommy takes me into room without TVs. 

I do know how to "Give Five" !  But I cannot clap or touch my nose yet.  Mommy is waiting for "my stubborn butt" to do it. 

I also do not crawl.  I turn myself around on my butt and scooch towards things.  I also do the same on my stomach, but it's not a full commando crawl just accidently scooching. 

My favorite games are rolling a ball with daddy, reading with mommy (I turn the pages!) and watching and petting my dog. 

Mommy has been very busy lately with work and even had to go away for 3 days which was very hard for her.  I got to stay with Grammy and only missed mommy a little. 

Mom told me to tell you she misses you guys and does try to read the posts as much as she can on her cell phone.  She is excited about all the babies being born, is praying for Noah and following all the exciting BFP!  (Yay for Kathy and her Pumpkin!)  To Shannon, Liz and Karen and others who are getting closer and closer -- she is very excited for you! 

I am a good eater.  I eat about 2 jars of stage 2 food a day and also one container of yogurt.  (I love blueberry best!).  I don't like fruit much if it's not in yogurt but I love squash, carrots and sweet potatoes.  I tolerate green beans and peas on occasion.  Mommy puts cinnamon in my sweet potatoes which I think is really yummy! 

I am wearing size 4 diapers during the day and size 5 at night - but I still sometimes pee-pee through because I sleep on my side.  Mommy says she's going to invent a "side diaper" so I don't leak out of my legs. 

I take baths in the "big boy tub"  (we only have one tub in the house and it's a jacuzzi tub) becuase I don't fit in my little plastic tub any  more.  I like the big boy bath a lot and think it's fun to splash and splash and splash. 

I still don't sleep through the night.  I sleep from about 7-8pm until 1-2 am then I want a bottle (I drink it all!) and sleep again until 4-5am for another.  Then sleep a few more hours.  Except today.  Today I woke up at 5:45 am and didn't want to go back to sleep and now am grumpy.

Mom says I am fighting sleep - especially naps.  But there is so much to do and see who has time to sleep??  This makes me a fussy baby at times until mommy can get me to sleep.  (Any suggestions on battling a child fighting sleep would be appreciated by mom.)

Well that's about all -- oh I start Wednesday going to a nice lady's house while Mom is working.  She has a 2 year old boy and LOTS of toys!!  I like her house a lot and can't wait to go play.  I will go there for 4 hours twice a week to give my daddy a break.  While my grandma gets radiation I might go more if she isn't feeling well. 

My daddy is on the transplant list and waiting.  No dialysis yet but they watch his numbers every month.  They changed his blood pressure pills and he feels icky now and I am a "handful"  because I want to play all the time.  That is why I get to go and visit this nice lady and play with her toys.

I found my doggy's bed is real comfy now that I am way too big for my bouncy seat!  She doesn't mind sharing with me as long as I don't chew her stinky-bone!


Overall I am a happy little smiley man that mommy loves to pieces!

Glad to hear that your hubby is still doing well too. I hope that he finds a donor VERY soon.

dear cooper,

 my mommy was just thinking about you guys the other day and wondering where yall had ran off to... wow! 3 days without mommy that doesnt seem like fun... i asked my mommy when i started crawling and she said i did the army crawl at about 9 months and full crawl about 10 months... i was also very quiet until about 12 months and now ive thrown my "inside voice" out... i still dont say many words... dada ..mama.. mum.. trixie ( my dog) baba... and "mas".. which means more in spanish... the big boy bath is so much fun.. my favorite thing to do in there is pee.. its so funny and i laugh and laugh and laugh...about the sleep... tell her to watch for your first signs... eye rubbing.. yawning... and to put you to bed right then... my mommy said if you wait to long you miss that "window".. i also go to a ladys house but i have to go 5 days a week... she has a 3 yo and a 5 yoa... we have lots of fun...your teeth are cool!.. and your doggy looks like she can play cool games..

My mom always says I should be as lucky as you to go around in only my diapers.  She thinks it might help me crawl if I can feel the floor and get traction instead of sliding around in my socks. 

BUT I saw you playing football and, dude, you had a sweatshirt and jeans on!  What happened to your diapers?? 

I might come down to visit Florida and I told mom that I wanted to play with you.  But she said that FL is a big state and  just like Mickey Mouse only lives in one town in FL you only live in one town in FL and it's too far away!  :-(

Cooper is the cutest baby ever!  I love getting your updates. :)
Try not to worry about his talking/ babbling and crawling.  Before you know it he'll be walking and telling you what to do!!! :)  All babies are differenct.  Eventually they all grow up and those things like- when he should start to crawl and talk are a thing of the past.
I can say all this because my son is 3 and doing everything he is suppose to be doing, now!.   I worried about everything when he was little though.   Now I just have new things to worry about!  Ughhh it never ends!

I go between being a worry-wort and trying to just relax.

Most important to me is just that he have fun and not sit in front of the TV all day. (Which he'd do if he was with his dad all day!) 

I know the worry will never go away.... silly me, when I was pregnant I thought having him (healthy) would make the worry go away.... nope!
