2nd baby shower

I am one of those people that think every baby should have its own shower, however, I don't think my family feels the same way. I don't think they are going to throw me a baby shower. My mom is talking like she's not going to and she's really the only one who would throw me one. I think it's because I already have a girl. I don't really need much stuff and that to me really isn't the point, I could care less if people bought me things, I guess I just think the celebration of the baby is neat at a shower. It's kinda got me bummmed. Oh well, I just had to vent about it somewhere.

So why not plan something for right after the baby comes - a "welcome baby" open house or something?

I doubt that if I have a second baby my family would do a second shower. I wouldn't be totally opposed. We celebrate EVERYTHING in my family and this baby is going to be to more parties in it's first year then some might be to in a lifetime! lol

Yes, that might be a good idea. Both of my sister in laws had showers for every baby, but they had other family that threw them, so I think that's partly why its bothering me more. Like this baby isn't as special or something. (I'm probably just being hormonal )

my family is one that only throws one baby shower, thisis my first so I am excited about my shower...but I know lots of people who have a "welcome baby" party once the baby is born which is a celebration for the baby- maybe your Mom would go for something like that...if not throw it yourself!
Baby girl Morgan born 5/28/10, 2 weeks before my 1 year surgiversary. Angel concieved 09/10, lost 10/13/10, was due in June 2011. Baby #2 (our rainbow) on their way, due 7/27/11- Miley Victoria or Maddox Michael

I think my side of the family is the same as yours.  I was talking to my mother in law and she mentioned the other day that later on we will have a shower though.

But talking to my mom today it seemed like she wasn't going to plan one.  We didn't actually talk about it though.  But I know for one of my sisters she had a second shower for her.  So we will see.
If not, I am sure everyone will come to the one my MIL was talking about!
But I only really need a sprinkle shower too.  Unless this is a baby boy, then I will need all new clothing but that's about it.

I do hope you get a shower because I also believe that every baby should have a shower as well.

Hi Traci,

Oh man...I know it...it's been killing me not knowing.

I don't have a normal 20week at the ob office.  Since I am AMA I have to have a level 2 and they couldn't get me in until March 2nd.  I was so bummed..it's like when I am going to be over 21 weeks.

On Feb. 4th we thought we were going to get in for a sneak peak, but it didn't happen.  We have a friend that is a nurse at the ob office, but she couldn't get us in.  Well my husband just called me, his best friend is married to the nurse.  And they are getting us an ultrasound for a present...on Thursday!  Which is also my birthday!  So what a present!!!  I am so excited!

So now I can't wait until Thursday!  But it's only a bit over a day away!
yeah!!!  so I will be on here to post what we are having as soon as I get home!

Hoping for a boy but thinking it's going to be a girl...I don't really care either way but would love to have a boy so my husband can have his own biological son!
