Update on Doctor's Visit

Hey everyone,

I'm doing well. Been snowed in for about a whole week so you haven't heard from me. Had my HR visit today and Jakob's heartbeat is strong. I am measuring 28 weeks (I am 27 weeks 2 days) so I'm right on target. They want to do a growth sonogram in two weeks to make sure he is growing well. My blood sugar is high in mornings so they are putting me on insulin. I hate needles...John had to give me all my fertility shots but amazingly when the nutritionist showed me how and I did it, it wasn't soooo awful, so I guess I'm giving myself a needle 3x's a day. I'm just nervous that I was diabetic before my surgery and its been well under control after, will I have to stay on insulin after he is born?

So glad to hear that Jakob is doing well! (that's our boy name too! )

Insulin stinks :( I hope that you get to go off of it as soon as you deliver!

I don't know much about the diabetes issue and if you'll have to stay on the insulin. Hopefully you won't have to. I'm glad everything else is going ok though............besides the needles!

Eww, sorry about the needles. I don't know if I could poke myself very easily either. But I'm glad to hear that the baby is doing well.

Hi, good to hear the baby is doing good. I had to start doing Insulin shots 12/26/2001 and didn't like it at first but got used to it, then was put on an Insulin pump 5/24/2004 and been on it ever since, I had RNY surgery 12/17/2008 in the hopes my DIABETES would go away but that didn't happen.  Now I'm 22 wks pregnant (US scheduled for this thursday and hope we find out if its a boy or girl) before I got pregnant this time my A1C was a 6.2 so my blood sugars were good now that I'm pregnant my A1C went up to 7.4 my endo is concerned.....

I am so happy he is doing well. It amazing the things we will do for our babies. I did my shots twice a day. Not insulin but a shot is a shot :) I am shocked how fast it is going though. Seems you were just telling us how nervous you were about the fertility shots. I am so happy all is going well.

Sounds like he's growing well!   Glad to hear other than the insulin things are going good.    I was on insulin for yrs before my WLS.   I went off it only to get pregnant and put right back on.   I was very easily able to go back off once my baby was born.  In fact I took my last insulin the night before she was born.   Hopefully that will happen for you as well.   Just wanted you to know it's very possible to go back off it.
