Pregnancy Vitamin Help
We were going to do a FAQ about 2 years ago. But things fell apart, some people got pissy, it turned into a ******g match off board, and I was racing the clock (it was just as I was nearing term with Daniel and my bp was getting VERY high -- as in at 36 weeks, my OB, who was a resident at the med school told me to start doing "everything you can to push the baby out" cause her attending wouldn't induce me *yet*). The stress was getting to me and I asked someone else to take it over -- and they dropped the ball -- never got done.
Sure.
My OB was with a medical school, and thus had a RD for normies. She wanted her normies to get 90g of protein -- she had no idea what I was supposed to get. But she would commonly recommend protein shakes to normie patients if they were having issues getting up to 90g.
(BTW, aim for over 100g protein)

The reason why they put that there is because some dumbass will use them rather than food, using them as meal replacements and minimize calories and "diet" while pregnant.
The other thing to consider is the aritificial sweetners used -- many OB's tell you to minimize aspertame and some shakes use that as a predominant sweetner.
And even another thing to look at is the vitamin A -- which can be a concern for normies, but isn't as much of one for us. High amounts of the retinyl esthers (acetate and palmitate) can be detrimental for fetal brain development -- but remember that we malabsorb quite a bit so the concern is highly diminished in us.
So you have to remember -- companies are playing a great deal of CYA these days.
