update on mom, and me

This week has just been exhausting.... They did a series of tests this morning and he band had slipped up to her esophagus, but was still  stitched in normally.  They did a complete unfill and the band went right back into place.  The band was not even half full but from all the vomiting she was doing it caused a slight bit of slippage.  As soon as they completely unfilled it she felt so much better.  I went to see her this morning and she was eating italian ice and looked so good from last night.  They are keeping her another night because she is soooo impacted so they need her to go to the bathroom before she leaves.

Her band had not been filled for 3 months so they are not sure why all of the sudden it started bothering her.  The surgeon said she's doing so well with her weight loss they might not have to refill it at all.  Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers!

As most of you know I went on my hospital tour yesterday afternoon and I LOVE the L&D at my hospital.  Private huge rooms where you labor, deliver and stay after the baby's born, all in the same room.  You have the choice to labor in a huge Whirlpool bathtub if you want to.  They do all of the testing for the baby right in the same room too.  Unless something is wrong with the baby she stays with you the entire time, unless you want to send her to the nursery to sleep.  Also the baby gets a wrist and ankle band and if the baby goes near any hospital exit the ankle band sets off an alarm and the entire hospital locks down.  I thought that was pretty sweet and high tech.  Daddy gets his own bed in my hospital room and 3 meals.  Each patient has their own nurse the whole time they are there.

I'm allowed to have 2 support people during the delivery, so my hubby and mom and then I can have as many visitors as I want.  I forgot to ask a ton of questions because I was so overwhelmed, so I'm going on the tour again next month too.  The reality is REALLY setting in now, but it's all so exciting!

SO glad that your Mom is doing better! I've heard that the band can be tempermental - one of the reasons it isn't for me - for some people it works GREAT though and it sounds like your Mom is working it!

WOW are you going to a hospital or the Plaza to deliver? lol so glad that it went well! I guess I should find out about that... I'll ask at my next appt.

I'm glad to hear your mom is doing better and they found out what was wrong.
I need to schedule a tour of the L& D I'll be at too. It's a different hospital than the one I had my daughter in. I'm glad to hear that your hospital is good. I sure hope mine is, I really wanted to go to the other hospital, but insurance won't pay for it.

I am jealous of the L&D room!!! You almost described ours up to a T - but I WISH that hubby had his own separate bed!!! LOL! He has to sleep on this little cushioned window seat thing that converts to a bed- I am going to send him home at night this time around! LOL!

aww, they need to make the daddys more comfortable! lol!!  SOOOO any boy names picked out?!?!?!

NO! I am so hosed - hubby and I can NEVER agree upon anything boy related LOL! He likes the name Carter and I really like Branson - but he hates it! LOL! Any ideas?? I am open to suggestions!

LOL o no!  I like both actually!  I think it's cute to stick with the B's but that's just me!  As for suggestions, DH and I had NO boy names we liked, so I'm glad this ones a girl, we have tons of girl names lol!!

Happy momma is doing better. I like the high tech hospitals :) You will do great.
