Will my surgeon be mad?

I am a week away from being 7 months post op. This morning I took two pregnancy tests and they were positive. My surgeon recommends waiting till a year out, but here I am. Is he going to yell at me? How did your surgeon react to the news? today just happens to be the day of a follow-up appointment with my surgeon and the dietician, so they will be the firsts to know what is going on with me. I'm a little worried.

I got pregnant 7 months post op as well. My doc wasn't mad and didn't yell. You won't be the first person this has happened to that he performed the surgery on. Unfortunately, we lost the baby (I got preggers again 13 months post op), so all the advice they gave didn't really matter. But please be sure to talk to the dietician especially. You will need to add carbs to your diet!

Congratulations and good luck!

They might not be happy but they won't be mad at you (at least they better not be!) Make sure you talk to the dietician about getting your body out of ketosis and fast. You need to eat carbs - I was told 100 grams a day but see what your NUT says.

Take a deep breath, it'll be ok

CONGRATS!!! Yeah if yours is like mine he will be upset. BUT, that being said, mine also understands accedents happen. Prolly wont yell at you, and if he does... yell back.

Oh and my friend was at Fort Knox and just left in Oct to go back to TX to Fort Bliss. Her hubby was at Fort Hood when they met.

Thank you for your response. We will be moving to Fort Hood this summer. My husband was stationed there when we met. It's a small world, huh.

It is really nice to hear from others who have or are in my same situation. I am so excited but my husband wants me to wait to tell everyone. The surgeon was fine and did not yell at me. The dietician told me to follow what my OB and family dr suggests! I thought she would have all the nutrition answers. I'm glad that I have all the OH members to help me along the way

I got pg at 7 months post op also. When I called the office, the nurse read me the riot act. I was really upset and just sure that it was the surgeon's opinion too. When I went for a follow up appt a few months later, my surgeon actually said that he was happy for me. "Yes, it's not ideal, but it's a blessing and we'll work with it." were his exact words. I'm sure your surgeon will be supportive also!

I got pregnant at 4 months out and my surgeon wasn't mad at all... Both myself and my boys are doing well... I really wanted to wait before I got pregnant again but I guess God had another plan for me... Congrats and take care...
