35 weeks and dilating...
Hey Ladies,
I went to see my OB today and I am 1 cm dilated. I was like "What does that mean?!?!?!" This is my first pregnancy, so I am clueless about some things. She basically said that I can go into labor in a week or it could be a month. My blood pressure is also a little elevated. I still have way too much to do before baby girl comes. She has to at least wait until March 6...
I am definitely going to try to take it easy to hopefully prolong things.
Did anyone else start dilating early, but didn't go into labor for several weeks?
Thanks!

I always start dilating early. By 35 weeks I am usualy 3-5cm dilated and 50-60% effaced.
Don't worry about it.
I also once was 10cm dilated and 80% effaced for a week. It's no wonder when my water broke I felt like pushing, baby was born in 45mins! She weighed in at 10lbs 9oz. My biggest baby to date.
My sister was 6cm dilated at 36 weeks and 70% effaced. Because there was a snow storm coming she decied to induce that night, but she wasn't ready and neither was baby and she regretted the decision. She very well could have gone another 2-4 weeks she just panicked.
Early dilation is normal and in my case preferrable. If I am NOT dilated by 35 weeks I'd probably worry! But that's just me.
I usually birth between 37 and 39 weeks and I usually start dilating around 32 & 34 weeks.
