Braxton Hicks or Round Ligament Pain or something more?
Well Ladies, today at work I started to get a lot of tightening of my lower muscles. I work on my feet, and it was toward the end of a long stretch. I took a break and drank 20 oz of water, thinking it might be Braxton Hicks, but not sure. Well, my muscles were really sore now, and continued to be. The tightening started up as soon as I stood. Then, after my lunch break, I was feeling a little better but the tightening kept coming, sitting down too! But I don't think they are real contractions, because it really feels like muscle reactions. I am carrying twins, and I noticed that when the tightening started they were both moving a lot, and it almost felt like my muscles reacting to their movement. I am at nearly 23 weeks and I know they are growing, so could this be round ligament pain? Just wondering what others thought. I did call my OB and explained. She gave me some preterm labor warning signs to watch out for, which I haven't really had. I just feel really heavy in my abdomen and the muscles still tighten when I move. Should I be more worried? As it is I do have a Tuesday appointment. Thanks for the input.

Okay first and edit now I want to add one more thing.
This week I called the doctor about some lower abdomen tightness I was experiencing. I have a history of pre term labor but it started later, I am only 20 weeks now. Anyway, the on call doctor was sooo nice. I hate being a burden. But she told me similar to what your dr said to you but added if you are worried just go to the ER.
If it is weighing on your mind and you are just too worried go get checked out. Even if it is nothing you will have the piece of mind.

That is similar to how I felt thursday when I went to L&D. She told me that it could have been the way that the baby was laying, stetching or B&H contractions. Mine weren't getting better laying on my left side and drinking water, that's why I went in. That and I couldn't get the OB's office on the phone.
Have you considered one of those "belly belts" some of them have suspenders and they might help to take some of the weight off of your belly. Especially since you are carrying twins and on your feet a lot. My chiro recommended one but I am waiting for BRU to get them in stock.
Good luck and hope you are feeling better!

I have exactly what you are describing on and off and I'm only 17 weeks. From everything I've been told it's just Braxton Hicks and normal...maybe with some stretching thrown in. With twins you are going to feel everything more (I had triplets so I know). I get these "tightenings/contractions" whenever I'm standing too long or just overdoing it a bit. It's just my sign to slow down.
If they start to get more uncomfortable or your just don't feel "well" then I would go to doctors to get checked out...can't hurt and that's what they get paid for! Otherwise you are probably fine.
